A GRAND A FETE & FANCY BAZAAR Will be held in the GROUNDS OF ELM GROVE, ST. FLORENCE, on WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY, August 7th and 8th, 1889. THE FANCY BAZAAR Will be opened by Lady VICTORIA LAMBTON on WEDNESDAY, August 7th, at 2.30 o'clock. The Stalls will be furnished with FANCY WORK, CHINA, PICTURES, CURIOS, FERNS, FLOWERS, and REFRESHMENTS. A Gipsy Cauldron, Fish Pond, Bran Pie, and other Amusements will be provided on both Days. By kind permission of Colonel Grieve and Officers, THE BAND OF THE 46th REGIMENT (Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry) will attend on the First Day of the Fete. The Bazaar will open on the Second Day at 12 o'clock. A Band will be in attendance during the Afternoon. Admission on both days, One Shilling until 6 p.m.; after 6 p.m., Sixpence. Children Half-price. The Grounds will be closed on both Evenings at Nine o'clock. J Profits of the Fete to be given to the Fund for the further Restoration of St. Florence Church. A SPECIAL TRAIN at Ordinary Fares will leave Pembroke-Dock on WEDNESDAY, August 7th, at 1.30 p.m., call at Pembroke at 1.35 p.m., and be due at Manorbier at 1.45 p.m. Visitors will be able to return by the Severn Tunnel Train, stopping at Manorbier for this occasion, at 6.7 p.m., or by one of the Ordinary Down Trains at 7.47 or 8.40 p.m. A BREAK will leave the Gate House Hotel," Tenby, at 1.45 p.m. on WEDNESDAY, August 7th, and convey Visitors to and from St. Florence at Half-a- Crown for each Passenger. We again wish to draw attention to a lecture to be delivered in the Public Hall this evening on the South America Missionary Society and its work," by Mr Thomas Farmer, Metropolitan Lecturer. The chair will be taken by the Rector at eight precisely. —-—— On Wednesday next, Lady Victoria Lambton will open a Bazaar in the grounds of Elm Grove, St Florence, the proceeds arising from which will be devoted to the further restoration of St Florence Church. Full particulars are given in our adverti- sing columns. The Tenby Orchestral Society's Concert has been definitely fixed for Wednesday, August 14th, at 8 p.m., in the Groft Gardens. Among the perfor- mers will be Mrs Parcell, Miss A. Evans, Mr O. W. Rowland, Mr Hancock (vocalists); Miss E. M. Welch (violin); Miss Clifton (fairy bells); Miss Travers Smyth (pianoforte). If the weather proves favourable the concert should be a great success. L On Sunday next the Rev. W. G. ST. MARY'S CHURCH SCHOOLS…
ST. MARY'S CHURCH SCHOOLS ANNUAL TREAT. On Tuesday last the annual treat to the children attending the Sunday-schools in connection with the Church, the Quay Mission, and New Hedges School Church took place. It was originally fixed for Monday, but the unpropitious state of the weather necessitated a postponement till the fol- lowing day, when the weather was all that could be desired. Soon after eleven o'clock the children began to assemble at the Parochial Schools in Upper Park Road, where every scholar who had attended the required number of Sundays to enable them to participate in the treat, were given a rail- way and tea ticket by the superintendents, under the direction of Miss Caroline Fetherston, hon. secretary. This completed, a procession was formed, headed by the Rector, which marched through the town, preceded by a drum and fife band, taking en route Trafalgar Road, Culver Park, Esplanade, St. Mary's Street, St. Julian Street, High Street, Norton and Croft, to the Railway Station. Here the children were joined by their parents, as this year all visitors were rigidly ex- cluded. The whole party, numbering close upon a thousand persons, were safely entrained and con- veyed to Saundersfoot Station, from whence, after a rather long walk, a field near Bonville's Court Colliery was reached, the scene of the afternoon's festivities. It was not long before plenty of amusements were found for the children and elder scholars until tea was announced at 3.30, when a numerons staff of teachers and helpers served tea and cake ad lib. This over the parents were duly entertained, and then games and amusements be- came the order of procedure. Shortly before eight o'clock a move was again made in the direction of the Railway Station, from whence the whole party were safely conveyed to Tenby about 8.20 p.m. A march through the town to the Square followed, where the "National Anthem" was sung, and hearty cheers given for all who had provided the treat and helped by their presence to make it pass off successfully. Amongst those who assisted to make the affair a success, we observed Miss C. L.
