NEW LIFE-BOAT FOR THE DEN- BIGHSHIRE COAST. The Royal National Life-boat Institution has sent to Llanddulas a new life-boat, to replace the one stationed there by the Institution many years ago. The new life-boat, built by the Thames Ironworks Company, is of the Liverpool type, 36ft. long with 9ft. beam. She rows 12 oars, and is fitted with two water-ballast tanks and two drop-keels. A new transporting carriage has been supplied in order that the boat may be transported and launched as rapidly as possible. The new life-boat is named the Brother and Sitter, as desired by the late Miss Louisa B. Courtenay, who generously bequeathed a sum of money to the Institution for a life-boat to bear this name. The Committee of Management are much in- debted to the local committee and to Mr B. H. Jones, the Honorary Secretary, for their co- operation in the management of the life-boat at Llanddulas. The Royal National Life-boat Insti- tution has now 281 life-boats under its manage- ment, and not a winter passes without some of these boats rendering good service in saving life from shipwreck. Contributions in aid of the In- stitution will be gladly received by all the Bankers in the United Kingdom, by the several local Honorary Secretaries, and by Charles Dibdin, Esq., the Secretary of the Institution, 22, Charing Cross Road, London.
