TiLWYNGWRXL, OBITUARY.—The death occurred on Tuesday week of Mr Thomas Griffiths, Cambrian Stores, an old and much respected inhabitant of the place. He leaves behind him two sons and two daughters to mourn his loss, and with whom much sympathy is felt. He was the chairman of the local School Board and a deacon of the Methodist Church, a sure proof of the esteem in which he was held by the inhabitants of the village. The funeral, which was largely attended, took place at Ltanelltyd church- yard on Saturday. The co; t"ge was followed by a very large number of friends. The deceased was for many years engaged in business at Llanelltyd. MtsiCAt. Through the generosity of Mr R Smith, Manchester, an old friend of the village, a very much needed acquisition in the shape of a piano has been obtained. Mr Smith offered to contribute zCl2 10s for this object if a similar sum were raised by the children by the end of the year. This was successfully accomplished, subscriptions being given by various friends and visitors, the children working hard to secure the reward.
