MEMORIAL TO PRINCS " LLEWELYN.
MEMORIAL TO PRINCS LLEWELYN. NATIONAL SUBSCRIPTION STARTED. The proposal to establish a national memorial to Prince Llewelyn, the last native Welsh! prince, was further discussed at a meeting held at Chester on Tuesday, under the presidency of Lord Kenyon. It was first suggested that it should take the form of a Celtic cross, but ultimately an amendment in favour of erecting a pillar or obelisk was carried. As Lord Bute declmed the honour, Lord Kenyon was chosen chairman, and it was stated that the Prince of Wales would probably consent to become patron. To make the memorial as national as possible it was decided to limit subscriptions from a guinea downwards. The site of the proposed memorial will probably be Cefnybedd, near Builth.
NONCONFORMIST FESTIVAL CHOIR…
NONCONFORMIST FESTIVAL CHOIR FOR CARDIFF. A meeting of delegates from various choirs in Cardiff, was held in the lecture-hall of the Presby. terian Church, Windsor-place, on Tuesday evening, under the presidency of the Rev. J. D. Watters, for the purpose of considering the pro. posal to form a Union. The objects of the Union were sketched out, and the principal points were stated to be the uniting of the Nonconformist choirs in the town for their mutual benefit, arranging for conferences ab which papers by eminent musicians might be rend, particularly with regard to the character of sacred music, to provide a certain stimnlusand ideal forsacre(I music in local piaces'of public worship, and to arrange for an annual festival. The announcement was made that 14 choirs would join the Union, and six or seven others would do so at a later date. It was agreed that all the members in each choir should be eligible as members of the festival choir, and that each choir should send four delegates to representative meetings.—A meeting will be held in January to approve of the constitution and other arrangements, as already drafted, .I
PROFESSIONALISM IN RUGBY FOOTBALL,
PROFESSIONALISM IN RUGBY FOOTBALL, AGENDA OF THE SPECIAL MEETING. The agenda paper has been issued for the special general meeting of the Rugby Union, to be held on December 28th in London, and con- tains notice of amendments to the motions pro- posed by Yorkshire in opposition to the first circular issued by the Rugby committee. Mr W. Cail, on behalf of the committee, ivill move to leave out the words after meeting," and insert is of opinion that the committee's revised circular truly interprets the powers which are vested in them under the bye-laws of this Union, and the rules as to professionalism."—Proposed by Gloucester and seconded by the Bristol and Stroud Clubs: (1) That this meeting recognises the necessity of stringent steps being taken by the committee to enable them to deal effectively with cases of profes- sionalism, and considers that they tetfad within their powers ;n passing clauses 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of their manifesto of the 1st of November last, but that, with regard to clause 2, this meeting is of opinion that it is, as at present worded, too tar- reaching in its effect, seeing that it necessitates the punishment of every offence, great or small, with expulsion, giving the committee no discre- tion in the matter, and this meeting suggests to the committee that this clause should be modified by the substitution for that portion of it which follows the word 1 tickot- holders,' of the words shall, at the discretion of the committee, be punish- able other by expulsion or suspension, and the permanent or temporary suspension of all their members and offioitis and, with regard to clause 4, it is the feeling of this meeting that it effects such a very drastic alteration in the present mode of procedure that the committee would do well nob to insist upon its adoption until it has been fully considered and approved by this meeting. (2.) That the admission or otherwise of representatives of tho Press to meetings of the committee be left entirely to the discretion of the committee for the time being." Pro- posed by P. Maeu (Blackheath), and se- conded by W. P. Carpmael (Barbarians):—" (1) To leave out in the resolution the words after meeting,'and insert Is ot opinion that a reward of JB20 should be paid out of the funds of the Union to any person or persons who shall give information leading to the conviction of any club of offences, other than technical offences, against the rules relating to professionalism'; or, if the amendment to resolution 1 proposed by the Rugby Union Committee be carried, that the following addition be made to the resolution, viz. :—' And the meeting also considers that a reward of £20 should be paid out of the funds of the Union to any person or persons who shall give information leading to the conviction of any club of offences, other than technical offences, against the rules relating to professionalism (2) that the figure 4 be omitted from resolution 1 (o) that the figure 4 be omitted from resolution 2.

Too MUCH STRESS cannot be laid on the f;tck tliat in the whirl of unuatnral excitement, and in tlio struggle for existence in this genera Hon, no attention whatever is vuuchsafed to the most ordinary rules oi health. When the muscle* become relaxed, the nerves over-sensitive and delicately strung, and tile brain wearies at the slightest task, these .symptoms are part of Nature's warning that the delicate organism of the human frame is out of gear. In most cases a gentle stimulant and mild restorative is ail that is required to impart fresh vitality to the jaded nerves, and it is a well-known fact that a few doses of Holloway's Pills work wonders and restore the lost tone of rite nervous system.
