NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Executive Committee of the Local Authority of the County Palatine of Chester, at a Meeting held on the 8th day of November, 1906, at Chester Castle, made, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by the Dogs Order, 1906, the following regulation as to the wearing of Collars by Dogs, such Regulation to come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1907:- No Dog shall be allowed to be in or on any Highway or place of Public Resort unless such Dog is wearing, while in such Highway or place of Public Resort, a Collar with the name and address of the owner of such Dog inscribed thereon or on a plate or badge attached thereto." The foregoing Regulation does not apply to any pack of hounds or to any dog while being used for sporting purposes, or for the capture or destruc- tion of vermin, or for the driving or tending of cattle or sheep. SEIZURE OF DOGS WHERE REGULA- TIONS ARE CONTRAVENED. Any dog in respect of which an offence is being committed may be seized and treated as a stray dog under the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Dogs Act, 1906. OFFENCES. If any Dog is found in a highway or in a place of public resorn not wearing a collar as prescribed by the above Regulation the owner of the Dog and the person for the time being in charge thereof and the person allowing the same to be in the highway or in the place of public resort in contravention of the Regulation, shall each accord- I ing to and in respect of his own acts and defaults be deemed guilty of an offence against the Diseases of Animals Act, 1894. DISTRICT. The District of the Local Authority of the County of Chester does not include the City of Chester nor any of the Boroughs either wholly or partly within the County.
