but he could do little with the bowling, and was content to keep his end up. Webb, who was never comfortable, was clean bowled by Maxted, and Wiidolood replaced him. A most useful stand was made by the pair, and some good cricket was seen. The fielding was very keen. A double change of bowling was tried, Dai Davies and Williamson tak- ing the ball, and it was immediately effectivo. Dai Davies was in excellent form, keeping a perfect length, and varying the speed. He played havoc with the remainder of the batsmen. He clean bowl- ed Jacobs, Wildblood, H. Childs. and James, and had the remarkable average of live wickets for 7 runs. Williamson also did well. accounting for Belcher and Llewellyn, Graham taking the latter at point with a fine catch low down. The whole side were out for 78, or 92 rung in arrears. The achievement is an excellent one, and Capt Graham and his team are to be heartily congratulated. Swres Ebbw Valo. H. J. Wright, lbw, b Wildblood 15 S. H. Irish, b H. Childs 6 J. Cavanagh, b H.
