D. D. Williams, Merthyr, was elected to represent the quarterly meeting on the Board of the y I London Missionary Society. The following were appointed to represent the quarterly meeting on the Welsh Congregatianal Union Committee :Rev. J. Thomas, Soar, Merthyr4 the hymnal committee; Rev. W. Evans, Salemi Merthyr, the literature committee; Rev. J. W, Price, Troedyrhiw, the temperance committee I Mr. D. D. Williams, Merthyr, the Gronfa. On the motion of Councillor John Davies (Dowlais) it was resolved to support the Minority Report of the Poor Law Commission. A letter front the Rev. T. Powell, Cwmdare, in reference to scholarships for the Summer School, on terrk, perance teaching, was ordered to be laid on the table. One new, chapel had been built during the year, three schoolrooms had been erected, one vestry and one manse. The committee which has charge of tha mattef of the late Alderman Williams's will reported that although the case in the Court of Chancery had now been decided in favour of their con- tention, they had not yet realised any of the money. The question was left in the hands of the committee to deal with. Rev. E. Wem Williams, Nebo, Hirwain, waC elected chairman for the forthcoming year, and the Rev. J. Sulgwyn Davies, Siloh, Aberd was appointed to assist him with the secretarial s duties.
