EDWARDS.- Oil Tuesday the funeral of the Rev. William Edwards, of Mill-street, took place at the Aberdare Cemetery. Mr. Edwards, who was a native of Festinog, North Wales, had been in eharge of Ebenezer Congregational Chapel for about 40 years, aud was the founder of nearly all, if not all, the Congregational Churches in the Aberdare Valley. He was an able preacher and a powerful controversialist, as was evinced by the debate between him and the Rev. Dr. Price, Aberdare, anent "Baptism," which took place about twenty years ago. He had always been a staunch advocate of total abstinence. He was last year chairman of the North Wales Congregational Uuion, and delivered an able address from the chair on (if we remember correctly) "The present position of the Church," which he afterwards caused to, be published. The funeral was very largely attended by the public, and a great many ministers were also present.
