Eisteddfod Blaenclydach,
Eisteddfod Blaenclydach, Beirniadaeth. (Par had). ENGLYN IE GOGANWR." Irfon Bach, Dyn o'r Lie, Gwan Ei A wen, Aniedrus, Hackenschmidt, Ira, leuan, Omri, Iago, Awgrymiadol, Bardd Ieuanc, Pryderus, le Wir, Ond, Chwi Glywch, Min y Gwir, Frewyll, Lief, Llais o'r Lie, Ap Simon, Barn Gywir-22. Amrywiant gryn dipyn mewn teilyng- dod. Credwn y bydd y Ileoliad hwn yn weddol gywir: — Dosbarth 4.—" Dyn o'r Lie ac Irfon Bach." Dengys geiriau fel diafoldeb ac "uffernoldeb" fod y ddau frawd yma yn berffaith iach yn y ffydd ar gwestiwn y goganwr. Mae eu sel yn danbaid-mor danbaid nes llosgi i ffwrdd bob rhithyn o gynghanedd. Gofyned y ddau i ryw fardd cyfarwydd beth yw cynghanedd. Dosbarth 3.—" Gwan Ei Awen," An- fedrus," "Hackenschmidt," a "Iago." Mae dau wall sillebu gan Gwan ei Awen," ac un gwall cynghanedd yr un gan y tri arall. Dosbarth 2.—" Ira," Bardd leuanc," "Pryderus," "Ie wir," Ond," Chwi Glywch," Awgrymiadol," Omri," leuan." Cynghanedd bob un o'r cyfeili- ioa. yma yn gywir; er mai ei thynu ger- fydd ei gwallt wneir gan rai o honynt. Englynion dof, diergyd. Dosbarth 1.—"Min y Gwir," "Ffrewyll, "LIef," Llais o'r Lie," "Ap Simon," "'reneu glan i oganu," "Barn Gywir." Dyma engiynion cryfion a da, a dim ond ychydig i'w ddewis rhyngddynt. Ac wedi manylu hyd y medrwn, nis gallwn lai na rhanu'r wobr rhwng Ap Simon a Barn Gywir." Dyma Ap Simon": Corach aiian yw Goganwr-fwria Glafoerion athrodwr Gwrach, ar burach yn boerwr Cabl a gwawd yw cwbl y gwr. A Barn Gywir Goganwr bigog enaid-adyn yw Edwyn iaith cythreuliaid; Pardduna, beiwr dibaid Ddua lanwisg ffyddloniaid. TRAETHAWD, SOSIALAETH YN NGOLEUNI DYSGEIDIAETH CRIST." Caed saith o draethodau ar y testyn hwn, a gwn o'r goreu fod pob un o honynt wedi meddwl enill, canys y mae yn amlwg fod pob un wedi gweithio yn galed. Mae cyflawilder o lenyddiaeth ar y cwestiwn yma heddyw, ac yr oedd genym hawl i ddisgwyl traethodau da; ond mae y rhai yma tuhwnt i'm disgwyliadau. Ychydig sydd i'w ddewis rhwng y saith gan mor gyfartal ydynt; ond ni arbedais unrhyw draffcrth i geisio sicrhau dyfarn- iad teg. Dau beth garwn awgrymu i'r rhan fwyaf o'r saith —(1) Gofalu cadw at y testyn (2) trefnu y mater cyn dechreu ysgrifenu. 0 eisieu'r cyntaf, mae dalenau cyfain ag yr wyf wedi methu, er pob ym- drech, gweled beth yw eu hawl i dd'od i mewn. Jeremiah," Spes "Arthur o'r Felin," "Tertius," "Chris- tian Socialist," Tom," a Peredur." Jeremiah."—Gweithiodd Jeremiah yn galed, ac y mae ganddo draethawd rhagorol. Gresyn na byddai wedi meis- troli y llythyren h "—mae ei gopi yn frith o wallau o herwydd y bechadures hon. Mae tipyn o'r mater hefyd yn an- mherthynasol. Carwn hefyd iddo fod yn fwy pendant ar egwyadorion Sosialaeth, ac ar ddysgeidiaeth Crist. Spes."—An English essay, written by one who expresses himself clearly, which adds a good deal to the adjudicator's pleasure. As compared with some of the others, one cannot help thinking that this essay is somewhat rhetrocal, and, possibly, somewhat superficial. One wishes also for more definite examples of Christ's teach- ing which are either included in, or dis- carded by, present-day Socialism. Arthur o'r Felin."—Da iawn eto. Ei berygl yw anghofio fod y testyn yn gofyn am i Sosialaeth gael ei dal yn wyneb dysgeidiaeth Crist. Daw'r anghof hwnw yn fwy amlwg hefyd tua'r diwedd. Mae Arthur wedi gadael rhanau cyfoethog o'r maes heb eu cerdded; ac y mae yma ereill wedi cerdded y rhanau gerddodd yntau yn llawer trymach nag ef. Tertius."—Dyma draethawd campus eto, a thine lenyddol, gynil yn ei frawdd- egan. Ei berygl yw talu gormod o sylw i fanion Sosialaeth, ac nid i'w hegwydd- orion dyfnaf. Mae rhai o'r lleill yn gadael argraff ar y meddwl eu bod yn llawer mwy meistrolgar nag ef. Un rheswm am hyny yw eu bod wedi gadael y manion yn llonydd, ac wedi cadw'u nerth i cliwilio sylfeini. Christian Socialist."—Another excel- lent essay. Most of it bears directly on the subject; but there is a lack of method and arrangement which considerably weakens it. For example, it is on the bottom of the fifth page that he sayt3 Let us now turn to the principles that are advocated and contained within the meaning of the term Socialism." Most of the competitors have taken that "turn" in the first page; "Christian Socialist" should have done so, I think. He only devotes four pages to discuss them, whereas some of the others have given the whole ten. Tom."—Dyma un yn deall ei bwnc i'r gwaelod, ac un sy'n myn'd yn reddfol i ymdrin a'r pethau pwysicaf. Gwyr beth yw Sosialaeth, a gwyr beth yw dysgeid- iaeth Crist; a deil hwy wyneb yn ngwyneb gyda medr meistr. Peredur."—This essay is the work of an expert. I cannot in any way account for the fact that such an able writer should commit the most elementary mis- takes in spelling; e.g., "extrafagant," injuetices." Whatever may account for them, the essay as it stands is a splendid piece of thinking and writing. '61 Dynar saith; ac y mae'n anmhosibl i sydwybod gael ei dawelu heb ranu'r wobr rhwng Tom a Peredur." j

Ton. A branch meeting of the I.L.P. was held at the branch room on Wednesday, April 22nd, when there was a crowded attendance. Several matters relating to progress of the party were dealt with. Arrangements for the forthcoming summer campaign were considered, when it was decided to arrange meetings at Pentre and Heolfach in addition to the usual meet- ings at Ton. The party is making rapid progress, and with the sale of literature its "principles are becoming more under- stood.
