However, some finality is now being arrived at. Mr T. B. Farringtoin, C.E., produced pitams of an. en- larged sdheme, which he proposed the Council isihloiuild adojit. Newmarket. THE EISTEDDFOD.—On Monday evening last, a committee meeting in connection with the local eisteddfod was held under the presidency of Mr Arthur Williams, for the purpose of selecting officials foi- the ensuing year. Mr T. Jones (Schools) was appointed chairman, Messrs Wm. Roberts and R. J. Davies, treasurers, and Mr W. R. Roberls, secretary. IF "Pioneer" advertisements did not pay, the demand on space would not have more than d'ouiblecl in the last twelve months. PARISH COU, NCIL.-A meeting of this council was held on Friday evening, when Mr J. Jones (Schools) presided, and the following members were present :-Messrs William Jones, Peter Ryles, Oliver Savage,W P. Jones, and J. Roberts (clerk to the council]. The minutes of the previous council meetings were read and confirmed. A letter was received from Mr R. Bromley, in reference to an appointment of a school manager. Mr William Jones proposed and Mr Peter Ryles seconded, that Mr Parry Jones be appointed manager up to May 1st as requested. This was carried. A communica- tion was read from Mr ij. Hughes, clerk of the Prestatyn Council, asking them to select two delegates to attend a meeting in Dyserth on January 9th, concerning railway facilities. It was decided that Mr Jones (chairman) and Mr Roberts (clerk) should attend. A discussion arose as to the cartage of stones from the parish quarry to Llanasa parish. Mr W. Jones moved that no stones should be carted from the quarry to another parish unless paid for. Mr W. Parry Jones supported the motion. Mr W, Jones, said the stones were too inferior in quality to be used in repairing the roads of the parish, and all the members held the same view. It was decided to leave the matter in the hands of Mr W. Parry Jones, as district councillor and he will inform the surveyor of the question. The Chair- man said a ratepayer had complained to him that Felen Dre Bridge had been inundated bytherecen floods, causing great inconvenience to him whe driving cattle over it. It was resolved to call the attention of the surveyor to the condition of the bridge.

MARY'S ANNUAL REUNION.—On Mon day evening the annual reunion of the St. Mary's Catholic community was held in the Town Hall,and was of a very successful character, being attended by a large number of persons.
