ANTI-VACCINATION. Miss Jeaaie Craigen and a few friends conducted as anti-vaceioation demonstration on Tuesday night at Stratford; the occasion being the sale of some goods belonging to a blacksmith named Goulding, who was summoned for neglecting to have his chil- dren vaccinated. Goulding was ordered to have the inoculation performed, and condemned to pay the costs of the proceedings, which amounted to 19s. 6d. He refused to do so. He was again summoned for neglecting to comply with the orders made on him, and he was fined 10s. and the costs in each of the cases. The magistrate said he would hold over the penalty if the defendant would promise to have his children vaccinated within 14 days but Goulding refused to do so. Some of his goods were consequently seized to cover coats, and taken to the auction-rooms in The Grove, Stratford. They were sold on Tuesday night, Miss Craigen taking advan- tage of the occasion to visit Stratford and distribute bill. headed, Robbery by Act of Parlia- ment."
