Agricultural Wages Board (England and Wales). Rates of Wages for Overtime fixed for Male Workmen in Brecon and Radnor to come into force on 2nd September, 1918. THE Agricultural Wages Board (England 1 and Wales) duly established and con- stituted under Section 5 (l) of the above Act and the Regulation made by the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries, dated the 8th November, 1917, having given the Notice prescribed by the said Act, and having con- sidered all objections duly lodged with them, and having had regard to the provisions of sub-sections (6) and (7) of the said Section, hereby give Notice, as required by sub-section (4) of the said Section and by paragraph 4 of the Agricultural Wages Regulations, 1918, that they have fixed the following differential rates for overtime employment, as hereinafter defined, for male workmen of 18 years of age and over employed in agriculture for time-work in the area comprising the administrative counties of Brecknock and Radnor, and have defined for the purpose of the application of such differen- tial rates for overtime the employment which is to be treated as overtime employment as follows, that is to say 1. The difierential rates. for overtime shall be as follows :— (a) In respect of overtime employment on week days, 8!d. per hour. (b) In respect of overtime employment on a Sunday, lOd. per hour. 2. For the purpose of the application of the above rates and of the minimum rates of wages fixed by the Order of the Wages Board, dated the 16th July, 1918, the following em- ployment is defined as overtime employment, that is to say :— I (1) All employment in excess of 54 hours in any week (excluding Sunday) in summer. (2) All employment in excess of 48 hours in any week (excluding Sunday) in winter. (3) All employment on a Sunday. 3. For the purpose of the above rates em- ployment in summer shall be deemed to be employment during the period commencing on the first Monday in March and terminating on the last Sunday in October, and employment in winter shall be deemed to be employment during the rest of the year. 4. The above rates shall apply to all male workmen of 18 years of age and upwards who are wholly or partly employed in agriculture within the meaning of Section 17 (l) of the Corn Production Act, 1917, in the above- mentioned area. 5. For the purpose of the above rates the hours of work shall nqt include meal times, but ghall include any time auriug which, by reason of weather conditions, an employer has pre- vented from workihg a workman who was present at the place of employment and ready to work.
