HALFWAY HOUSE. FORESTERS' CLUB.—On Thursday Court Unity" branch of the Ancient Order of Foresters held their anniversary at the Halfway House Inn. The mem- bers assembled about 12 o'clock, and soon after marched to Great Wollaston Church, headed by lr. Lreorge Owen's Welshpool Band. Rev. W. F. Lightfoot Harrison preached a very appropriate sermon. Mr. Baker presided at the organ and the singing was very hearty. The members then marched back to the Court House, where an ample repast had been spread by the host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. Green. After dinner the following toasts were given :—" The Queen and Boyal Family by Dr. Howie, Bishops and Clergy by Mr. Deverall, Army, Navy, and Reserve Forces by Mr. R. Parr, Court Unity by Dr. Howie, Honorary Members by Rev. W. F. L. Harrison, The Court Surgeon," by Mr. Baker, The Host and Hostess by Dr. Howie. The Secretary (Mr. Davies) pre- sented a balance sheet, showing the Court to be in a flourishing condition. The regalia officer, Mr. Deverall also gave an account of the work of the Order in the Shrewsbury district, showing that great progress is being made.
