In presenting the Report and Statement of Accounts for the past year, the Directors are pleased to be able to notify the Shareholders that notwithstanding the great depression in trade experienced in various parts of the Kingdom, they again have the privilege of recording results which are in advance of any yet achieved by the Com- pany. The Total Income for the year amounted to iCI,284,878 8s 4d, being an increase of £ 148,525 Is 2d over that of the previous year. This includes J0175.592 13s 2d income in the Ordinary Branch, which is P,26,500 5s lid greater than the previous year. The number of Policies issued during the year in this Branch was 10,318 assuring the sum of P.972,167 17s 6d, and producing a New Annual I Premium Income of 435,936 15s Od. PREMIUMS (DECEMBER 1903). The new Policies issued during the year number 1,148,216, and the Premium Income on the Policies in force on the Company's books now amounts to £ 1,332,984 13s 9d.- CLAIMS. The Company has paid 57,896 Life Claims, Grants, and Matured Endowments during the year, amounting with Bonuses, to Z392,561 5s 8d. which, added to the sums previously paid in claims since the establishment of the Company, make a total of L3,827,434 18s 3d.
