THIS sociclr, itisMtuted for the conveni- ence and accommodation or every class and condition of life, was established in London, in 1792, upon a plan settled after the most mature consideration and approbation of several of the most eminent of His Majesty's Counsel. It embraces ttco objects of concern to the. Public, vrz. INSURANCE ON LIVES AN D STJUVIVORSH, AND G R A N R X X G A N U I T I XI; S INSURANCE ON' LIVES. This object, affords the opportunity to provide for the Aged, the Widow and the Fatherless, and to guard against the loss and disappointment of a depcndance on the casualty of life. To this end any person, for the anllna premium specified in the tables, can secure to his Widoto and Chit- dr-en thc payment of such a sum of money, as in his judgment will save them from that distress and poverty which his death would otherwise occasion. In the case of fines for the renewal 0f Leases held on laves, a very beneficial advantage is se- cured to the parties holding such Leases, by in- suring, the amount thereof on the Life or Lives of the pprson or persons, at whose death such Anes ar>i payable. The purchase money for Life Interests or An- nuities >aay be secured by insuring tite Life of the party upon whom the same depends. Persons holding Church Preferment or any o- ther situation, by which they possess only In- come for Life, may secure a reversion of a stipu- lated amount, ill money to their Widows or Fa- milies. Persons holding employments in public offices, depending either on the Lives of themselves or of others, may, by the modes adopted in this office, be secured from loss in case of the death of the party on whose Life the same may be held. Any person not possessed of an independent property before marriage, may, by insuring his Life, be enabled to make such settlement, on his intended wife, as shall be deemed requisite. A mong the various benefits this office affords, none, perhaps, may be greater, than the oppor- tunity it gives for satisfying creditors, where the ability of the debtor to discharge their claims depends on the continuance of t,he life I'liis may be accomplished by securing, through annual paymetHs on a Life Insurance, a sum to he paid at the death of IIle debtor; failure in trade may by this be prevented, and arrangements made in consequence equally beneficial to debtor and cre- ditor.
