London, Monday Evenings August 30. j DISPATCHES were received yesterday from fhe Ma rqois of Wellington, dated from Lezaca i on the I8'h. They do not contain any intel- ligence of much importance. A Mail from Sanbnder arrived also yesterday. Both ar- mies have remained quiet smce the victories of the Pyrenees; but Lord Wellington is pres sing1 vigorously the sieges of Pampluna and St. Sebastian. The latter place is said to he very short of provisions. sit. rilos Graham, whom the Altona Paper" of the 16th sent out of the world with so little ceremony, is at Ayerzun, near St. Sebastian's, which place is closely Invested by sea and land. On the 19th at the mouth of I he 3:: y "f Passages, a cannonade at St. Sebastian's was distinctly vi sihle. it was understood that some heavy I ordnancc, which had been landed some days before, would he brought to act the fortress on /Iw 20!h. Some Paris Papers have been received, but not of a tater date than ifie 23d. There is one important piece of intelligence mentioned in I lie txi. It is the eagerness with which the French Government are pur-chasing trees for pallisadoes for Ihe fortresses on the Rhine.— A demand of a large number of Irees has been made of the Duke of Baden, and 9000 were purchased in the environs of Basle the begin ntng of this iiiotilli for pallisadoes for the for- tress of Huninguen. It should seem as if Bo naparte were not without apprehensions that he should he obliged to fall hack to the liliine, It wasreporled llns morning that Buonaparte had passed or rather repassed the Elbc. We know not upon what authority Ihe rumour rests, bul it is by no means Improbable. If the Auslriaus and Russians have approached I the Bavarian frontier in great force, and if the Crown Prince is making a movement Io throw himself m the rear of the enemy, Buonipnt -'e will not remain between the Elbe and the i Oder There were ;Iso reports this morning I ofgreat battles on Ihe 17fh and 18lh of this month. If there have been such battle's thev have been unfavotirable to the enemy, or we should have had them announced 10 its in fir ings from the French coasf. As late as last night, no such firing had been heard. We are happy to announce the safe arrival of the Bedford, of 74 gnus, Vice Admiral Stil- ling, with the valuable homeward-boitnd Jamaica fleet.
