AT a numerous and respectable Heeling, held in the Shire Hall, in Ruthiu, in the county of Denbigh, on Friday the 271li day of August, 1813, pursuant to public notice Sir Watkin Williams Wynn,Bt. The following resolutions and regulations moved by JOHN WYNNE, Esq. and seconded by JOHN HEATON, Esq. were unanimously adopted 1. That the object and constitution of theBii- tish and Foreign Bible Society, have the cordial approbation of this Meeting. 2. That a Society be formed, to he caIled The Auxiliary Bible Society, of the county of Dmbigh for the purpose of co-operating with the British and Foreign Bible Society, in promoting the dis- tribution of the Holy Scriptures, both at home and abroad. 3. That, conformably to the principles of the Parent Institution, the Bible;, and Testaments to be- circulated by this Society, shall he without note or comment, and those in the lirgnageof the united kingdom, of the authorized version only. 4. That all Persons subscribing on<guTnea per annum, or ten guineas at once, orupvards, shall be Members of (his Society. 5. That the business of this Society shall be conducted by a President, Vice-Pnsidents, a Treasurer, two Secretaries, and a Committee, consisting of twenty-four lay Membo-s, (to he appointed this year by the President, ;nd a ma- jority of the Vice-Presidents) twelve of whom shall be members of the Church of Engand that five Members of this Committee coistimte a quorum and that the said Committe be em- powered to fill up any vacancy that nay occur | during the year. 6. That every Clergyman or other Minister, who is a Member of this Society, shall be enti- tled to attend and vote at the Meetings of the Committee. 7. That the Committee shall meet qiarterly, or oftener, on the first Monday in every tuarferly month the firs'. Meeting to talie place tn Mon- day, fhe 4th day of October next. 8. That the Committee divide this county into districts, and appoint one or more of their Mem- bers for each district, who may associate with themselves any active subscribers, for the pur- pose of soliciting subscriptions and (10111tiotis and that they establish proper agents anr corres- pondents in different parts, within the 1 mits of this Auxiliary Society. 9. That the whole of the subscription?and do- nations received by this Society, shall be annu- ally re miffed, after deduct iug incidental expenses, to the Parent Institution, in consideration of the advantages held out to Auxiliary Societies, namely, that the Committee of such Societies shall be entitled to receive gratuitously, fit' their local necessities shall require it) a supply of Bi- bles and Testaments, estimated at prime cost, to the amount, of half the entire sum remitted by them to the Parent. Institution within the year and further, that The Members of Auxiliary So- cieties shall b'e entitled to the privilege of pur- ch-ning from the depositories ofslIeh Auxiliary Societies, Bibles and Testaments on the same conditions as the Members of the Parent Insti- tution." JO, That for the purpose of giving full effect to the benevolent designs of the British and Fo- reign Bible Society, in liberal grant of the Scriptures for distribution among the poor, the Committee shall mafie it their husiness to enquire by means of Sub-Committees associated "with any active subscribers, what families or individuals, re,idinx within their several districts, are in want of Bibles or Testaments, and enable to procure, them and that it shall be toe duty of the Com- mittee to furnish them therewith at reduced prices, to their cireumsrauces. II. That all the money received for ^Bibles and Testaments sold to the poor at reduced prices, be expended-in the purchase of more copies at prime cost, to be added to th? stock received gratuitously from the Parent Society, and to be distributed in like manner, till all the poor within the extent of this Society shall be supplied with the Holy Scriptures. 12. That for still further promoting fhe circu- lation of the Scriptures, it is expedient, fo encou- rage the formation of Branch So cic lie s Of districts, within the sphere of this Auxiliary Society such branch societies, and the individual members thereof, to be entitled to the same privileges from the Auxiliary Society, as it and its indivi- dual members eujoy from the Parent Institution. 13. That, sireh pet sons as may fioi ifnd it con- venient to become members of the Auxiliary So- ciety, or of any one of its branches, shall upon formiug themselves inlo Bible Associations, be entitled to purchase at the depository,of this society, under the direction of the committee, copies of the scriptures, at prime cost, for gra- s tuitous distribution, or sale at reduced prices, among their poorer neighbours. 14. That a general meeting of the subscribers he held at Ruthin yearly, during the time of the summer assizes, when the accounts shaU he pre- sented, the proceedings of the past year stated, a new committee appointed, and a report agreed upon, to be printed under the direction of the committee, and circulated among the members. 15. That in the formation of the new commit- tee, the Treasurer, Secretaries, and such three- fourths of the other members as have most fre. quetitly attended the committee, shall be re-eli- gible for the ensuing year. 16.
