Witton Albion v. Rhyl. (Combination). At Witton, before a small gate. Neither team was at full strength. Witton started with the wind in their favour, but could make little impres- sion on the Rhyl defence. Joyce shot past the post, and Dale failed to score with an open goal. Rhyl then broke away, Thomas scoring. The Rhyl goal then underwent a severe bombardment, Pendrooke saving well. Interval Rhyl 1. Witton nil. Final: Witton, 2 Rhyl, 1.

Bangor v. Carnarvon. (North Wales Coast League.) Bangor had several reserves, and the visitors were also weakly represented. Carnarvon first got within shooting range, Roberts sending well past the uprights. Li the same minute shot beauti- fully in, and this led to a slight attack. Bangor eventually got away, Dick Owen taking a run on his own account, but being neatly robbed by the custodian. Carnarvon still pressed, and Li was within an ace of scoring. Bangor now attacked, the ball entering the net off one of the backs. Bangor obtained a penalty, which Arridge failed to convert. Final: Bangor, i Carnarvon nil. -0-

Llandudno v. Conway. EASY WIN FOR THE AMATEURS. (North Wales Coast League). These teams met on Saturday for the second time this season1, under North Wales Coast League condition's, the Conway Morfa being the venue on this ocicasion. It will be remembered Conwialy returned from, Llandudno a short time ago the losers to the substantial tune of six goals' to one1. This result, it was hoped, would now be materi-ally altered, what with the im- provement in the Conway team, and the fact that they played on their own ground. More- over, two or three changes made in the con- struction of the eleven were expected to prove ,a further .asset, but without more ado we say the importation of Parry into the forward line was anythinlg but a success. J. R. Jones was also out of his, element at centrei, but he will eventually prove to be a man in the proper place —if the ever-changing policy will but give him a chance to properly fall in with his men. The "Amateurs," as, they title themselves with justified pride, turned out a strong side to ,a man. It is rtrue. Hotebkiss was missed in his favourite role, but what was, lost in that direc- tion was counterbalanced by his sterling work in the net. This, was the first occasion for us to see Flood ait centre. He is a weighty, dash- ing player, but he should certainly guard him- self against an apparent tendency to play the man instead of the: ball. That unfortunate in- cident between, him, and Cooper was not due altogether to the Conway man's fault. The strongest men of the visitors' side; were D. Griffiths, J. Williams, and G. Davies. The lat- ter's work at half was clean and useful. He fed his, forwards with excellent judgment, and more than once he got his side out of murky waters. The teams were:—Llandudno: Hotchkiss, goal; Lunt and C. Roberts, backs; J. Williams, G. Davies, and Jim Parry, halves; D. Griffiths, T. Cantwrigiht, Flood, J. Roberts, and J. Williams, forwards. Conway: Llelw Parry, goal; R. O. Jones and Tom Jones, backs; Shem Jones, Cooper, and O. Ellis, halves; Wilson, Ben Evans, J. R. Jones, Parry, and L. J. Roberts, forwards. Referee: Mr Harry Jones, Llanrwst. The Game. Ex-Harbourmaster Evans kicked off for the homesters from the Deganwy end of the field, about ten minutes after time. Jim Parry at once placed Conway on the defence with a long kick. Llew Parry cleared twice in rapid -uc- cession. Then the leather went behind. Tom Jones kicked out,, and after a brief tussle in midfield, the visitors again returned to their opponents' twenty-five. Tom Jones and Parry defended well, and a long kick by Tom appeared to have cleared the way, wthen George Davies secured, and transferred with rare skill to D. Griffiths. Before little Llew could wink, the sphere was at the far corner of the net. Llandudno were thus one up within five min- utes of the kick-off. In due course, Wilson got away at top speed for Conway, but he found no support, and a fine opportunity of equalising was lost. However, the homesters kept up the running in front of Hotchkiss for some time. Tom Jones was given a penalty, but toe leather went behind. After a short visit to the Conway quarters, Cooper altered the venue with a pretty dribble, followed by a good run. He essayed to give Ben Evans a chance, but the inside man sent miles behind—another golden opportunity gone for nought. The visitors again rallied. Lunt sent on a pretty pass to Griffiths, who took it cleverly, and galloped well down to the opposite end, from whence he centred, Williams meeting it, and registering No. 2 in unmistakeable fasifuon. Conway were full of courage, however, and at this juncture they displayed the only bit of effective combined play seen between them throughout the (game. Eventually, Parry brought this to an end with some inexcusable "gallery work." At this point the visitors were awarded a penalty, which was splendidly saved by Llew. Cooper was seen to good advantage during the next few minutes, his services to L. J. Roberts and Wilson bein'g effective to a de- gree; but there was ,always something in the way, and that thinll, as a rule, was either Lunt's foot or head. Back again to the home half the visitors went, the left wing being set in motion by George Davies. Roberts and Williams beat the Con- way backs,, and Griffiths, receiving the ball from Williams, registered the third goal from close, quarters. With three goals in their fa- vour, the visitors slowed; down, and Cooper took advantage of the fact. Tom Jones opened out, and Cooper took in hand. There was a race between the Conwayite and Flood, Cooper coming off best. Transferring! to Ellis, he gave the latter a beautiful chance, but Hotchkiss saved beautifully witn his fist. Conway kept up a warm attack until half-time, Wilson, J. R. Jones, Cooper, and Shem Jones put in all they knew of individual work, but combined tactics were. quite forgotten. Just before the whistle sounded, Williams sent in a magnifi- cent effort from a difficuilit position, the ball striking the: cross,-bar. At haM-time the score stood-: Llandudno Amateurs, 3; Conway, o. Seco d Half. Re-starting, operations were of a more even character. Ends were changed with clock-like regularity, but it was noticeable that where Conway were weak—in front of the net—the Llandudno men were exceptionally strong. Di- rectly an opportunity offered itself, they rained in shots from all angles. Conway, on the other hand, appeared loth to risk chances, and whatever shots were made, came under most favourable circumstances. The, first point of note was a lovely centre by L. J. Roberts, and very hard luck was experienced by the little centre, in his attempt to do the needful, just missing by inches. Then Parry was offered a chance, but it was too slow a shot. Eventu- ally Lunt cleared the way with a long; pass to Griffiths. The winger worked his way well down, but Wilson robbed him,, and returned the leather to Cooper. The latter over-reached himself, and G. Davies secured. After a short run, George transferred to Williams, who broke away. Tom. Jones tried to checkmate him, but Williams dodged and got clear again. By this time the, ball had rolled on a good distance ahead, and little Hew made the only mistake of the day in running out to meet it. A race between the keeper and Williams ended in fa- vour of the latter, who, with an open 'goal, safely placed the. ball in the net. The. visitors kept up a stiff attack, and Tom Jones's defence was excellent in every way. George Davies delivered himself of a beauty, which struck the bar. Griffiths sent another, wide of the mark, while: Williams: and Roberts sent in one each, which little Llew manipulated cleverly. Re- lief was eventually brought about by Tom Jones. Cooper took up his kick, and essayed a dribble, being, eventually fouled by Flood. He was on his feet in a twinkle, however, and be- fore the Llandudno centre knew where he was he. had felt the receipt of a smart rap on the nose 'by Cooper. The unfortunate incident resulted in Cooper being sent off the field. Within a few seconds, Flood found solace in sending his side one up with a speedy shot in front of the uprights. Conway were after- wards on the aggressive for a short time, and Hotchkiss was tested twice. Shortly before the call of time, however, the visitors were once more at their opponents' end, and Cart- wright scored the sixth goal from a melee a few yards outtside, the net. Final: — Llandudno Amateurs, 6; Conway, o. Colwyn Bay Reserves v. Abergele Church Guild. Played at Colwyn B-aiy, on Saturday last. The game was of a very one-sided nature, the homesters scoring no less than six goals in the first half. The players who scored these were W. Jones 2, J. Owen 2, S. R. Leathley I, and C. Roberts 1. From the re-start the homesters continued the attack, but: were offside times without number. In this portion of the game the visitors were granted a penalty, whicn F. Williams saved, but the return was placed safely in the net. A non-interestimg game ended thus: Colwyn Bay Reserves, 6; Abergele, i. Colwyn Bay Reserves were represented as followsGoal, T. Williams; backs, H. Morris and Aubrey Griffiths; halves, Sil Ed- wards, W. Brown, and R. Jones; forwards, W. Jones, J. Ll. Owen, C. Roberts, Jack Owen, and S. R. Leathley (,captain). >

I Arnold Houss (Chester) v. Biuglewcod (Colwyn Bay). Played at Chester, on Wednesday, November 26th, in dull weather, the teams being:- I Arnold House: R. Bancroft, goal; P. Davies and C. Meakin, backs; W. Moore, J. Mills I (capt.), and H. Brandreth, half-backs; C. Edwards:, J. H. Davies, G. Chantrey, H. Sumpter, and H. T. Moore, forwards. Dinglewood: H. Faircloulgh, goal; F. Brigigs and J. O. Holroyd, backs; H. Tonkin, B. Dicken, and R. da Costa, half-backs; H. Clarke, T. Holroyd, A. H. Morgan, H. G. Jones (capt.), and R. T. Clayton, forwards. Mills won the toss, and elected to play up the slope. Morgan started for the, visitors, who at once attacked, the ball going outside. Jones got away, and, showing a clean pair of heels to both backs,, opened the score for Dinglewood. From the kick-off Arnold attacked, and gained a corner, but Fairclough fisted away. Still they pressed, and gained another corner. Suc- ceeding this, a penalty was given against Jones for pushing within the penalty area, from which P. Davies scored. The game was evenly con- tested, and, at length, Sumpter broke away, but Fairclough easily saved a somewhat weak shot. Arnold kept up the pressure, and Sumpter put them ahead just before half-time, when the score was Arnold 2, Dinglewood I. Dinlgllelwood soon attacked, but were kept out by the Arnold defence, which was very strong. Sumpter put in a good shot, which Fairclough saved, but before he could clear it J. H. Davies was on him, and registered another goal for the 'homesters. With the score 3-1 against them, Dingflewood livened up, and with a long shot Jones s,core-d their second point. From the kick-off, Jones secured the ball, and, running rilght through the defence, scored a third goal. With the teams on equal terms, the game was hotly contested, and Clayton, after a splendid run up the left wing, finished off grandly with a good shot, which gave Dinglewood the lead. The game was very exciting to the end, and a capital game ended in a draw of four goals each. Continued on Page 7.
