NOTES. An ideal day, but a poor crowd. Rhyl used to draw well in days gone by, but of late the tale has been somewhat different. -in their ranks was W. H. Jones, of Bangor, who d.d service for the City crew some years ago. Jack Jones took up his usual position at left full full back, and the hnmp set looked oomplete. In the opening &ccn<; Evans was in prominence, but V> ■ H. Jones prevailed on one or two occa- sions. Evans soon measured his opponent and eventually got in a beauty wh ell Hughes saved in style. Rhyl, although young-looking fellows, made several promising rushiw, and Ted was lucky on one occasion to save. Both ends were visited in turn, and Hughos had a deal to contend with. Ol.ver and Hughie Davies initiated the first telling movement, and when tho latter was about to part Burton paid him too much attention in the penalty area. Dargie was given tho shot, and the leather le Wa" passed Hughes at express speed. The Scribes were in doubt as to the identity of tue penalised player, and polit.'ly asked one of tho Rhyl players if he knew the name, but lie plar(-d to b?,- at )ca. ,.pI An effort was made to ascertain the name from one of the forwards, but he was also at sea as to tlie identity of his colleagues. Rbyl made capital efforts to break through, but lacked sting. The imt ai hrUf was certainly not exciting, and some of the players appeared to be suffering from "too much pudding. Tho second Jwiii ofx3jued more promisingly, and tho teams appeairod to be more ev<?n]y matched.
