NOTES. An ideal day, but a poor crowd. Rhyl used to draw well in days gone by, but of late the tale has been somewhat different. -in their ranks was W. H. Both sides were w ,-)l represented, the Guild introducing for the first timo a former Greenfield player, Joel Bennett, who i tho satisfaction of scoring the two goals whicii gave the Guild the victory. Mr Hodgc, of Che. t r, was the referee. Greenfield, p ay.ng down the slop:1, early loomed largely, but Hayward was in one of his best moods in the Denbigh goal. and saved some good shots in fine style. The play of both teams was of a ragged d cr.pt on. Now and again, however, sornJ pe, runs were made by the Greenfield forwards, wiio worked th o-ighout in more harmony than the homesters. Macnamara was conspicuous at centre forward for the Green- field team, and he led several attacks in a fasluon which bodrxl ill for Denbigh, but Parry Evans was a tower of strength at full back, and frus- trated the vis-tors' efforts time aft-or time. Mid- way through the first half L. Lewis broke through for the Cu.U, and was palpably tripped when about to shoot. The referee, however, did not see the offence, but the Guild soon got a goal, Bennett working through on his own and beat- ing the goalkeeper neatly. Greenfield played vigorous jootbait after th.s, and put strong pres- sure on Hayward's charge. The attack ended when Macnamara, apparently offside, netted, and the free kick gave the Guild a chance of getting the ball out of the goalmouth. liennett netted for the Guild, but the whistle had previously gone for offside. About eight ramute3 from time Goodwin, one of the home full backs, was car- ried off with a twisted knee. In his absence Greenfield maelo desperate attempts to get the equaliser, but failed. In the second half this Guild, with the slope in their favour, gave a bitter display, but were handicapped by Goodwin's incapacity.
