GOOREIRGRAIG. On Monday evening at the meeting of the local Cymdcithas Ddiwylliadol an interesting debate took place on1 the subject, "A ddylai merched gacl yr un gyflog a. bechgyn." Miss Joan Brazell ably championed the cause of he,' sex, and, in spite of the adroit arguments of Mr. Bryn Morgan, who was the leader of the negative, suc- ceeded in cirryiiig her cause. A num- ber of the apdienoe spoke for and Two cl'owd('{l houses marked the per- j fo-mances of the operetta "Red Riding Hood's Reception" given by the Godre'rgraig Operetta Society, under th » conductorship of Mr. Ezekiel Hop- kin, at the Coliseum- on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. The oompany, for the most part consisted of quite young children, and were siccompanied bv a well-balanced 'orchestra under tho conductorship of Mr. T. W. Hopkin, and gave a delightful rendering of this pretty operetta. Solos were sung by Misses Jenny Griffiths, Elsie Phillips, Susie Rees. May Williams, M. Brazell. M rs. M. Will iiims; dance, Miss Phillis I Evans; recitations, Miss. Maggie J. Jones, Master Phillip Davies, D. J. Harries, 0. Evan Jones, and Dick Griffiths. Mr. John Griffiths (manager of Tarreni Colliery) was chairman. T hrough the efforts of all concerned a goodly sum is assured to a deserving cause, namely the assisting of Mr. Isaac Jones, Pantteg, who has been unabl e to follow any employment for th > last four years.
