DOLGELLEY AND BARMOUTH I WESLEYAN CURCUIT QUARTERLY MEETING. The above meeting was held at the Ebenezer Wesleyan Schoolroom on Wednesday, April 7th. Rev. E. J. Parry, the superintendent minister in the chair. Representatives from the various churches were present. It was resolved that Mr J. R. Williams Mor-awel, Barmouth, be elected as circuit steward in the place of Mr 0. W. Morris (deceased). Mr R. R. Jones, B.A., Dolgelley, was appointed circuit chapel secretary for the coming year. The Sunday School schedule was,read by the Rev. R. Conwy Pritchard, in the absence of the circuit Sunday School Secretary, Mr E. G. Owen. A discussion on the Sunday School work was opened, many members taking part. The sum of C45 13s. 2d., was collected towards Foreign Missions during the year in the circuit. Messrs G. E. Owen, and J. Pryce Jones, were thanked for their services as auditors of these accounts. Mr J. Pryce Jones was unanimously elected treasurer for Foreign Missions. Messrs R. Lloyd Williams, Cilmynach and R. R. Thomas, Dolgelley, were appointed delegates to the Synod, which is to be held at Dolgelley, May 2nd to 6th. Unanimous invitation was given to and received by the Circuit Ministers to stay another year in the circuit. A notice of motion was putdown for the next meeting, re a new minister's house at Dolgelley. It was unanimousley resolved that a resolution of protest against any inter- ference with the Welsh Church Act be forwarded to the Prime Minister and Mr J. Haydn Jones. Also that a resolution supporting the effects of Mr D. Lloyd George on Temperence be sent to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Prime Minister and the member for this division. Resolution of sympathy, be sent to the families of the following who have died during the quarter :— Messrs 6. W. Morris, Glanglasfor J.P. Jones (loan Glan Menai) Harlech Mrs Owen, Mawddwy House, Dolgelley; Mrs Jones, Shop, Arthog; Mrs David Jones, Ciogwyn Terrace, Harlech Mrs Owen, aBontddu Mrs Jones, Victoria Hotel, Llanbedr. It was resolved that a Circuit Conven- vention be held in the Autumn. Mrs David Roberts, Arosfa, very kindly entertained all the delegates to an excellent tea. Messrs D. J. Lewis and Richard Barnett proposed a vote of thanks to Mrs Roberts for her kindness, as well as to Mrs E. J. Parry, Mrs Pugb and Mrs Williams, Marine House, for presiding at the tables. A very success- ful meeting was brought to a close by Superintendent.

-m Death of IUr E. W. ElliS, Staffordshire Rouse. It is with regret that we have to an. nounce the death of Mr Ellis William Ellis, Staffordshire House, which took place at his residence last Sunday evening, at the age of 65 years. Mr Ellis bad been ailing for some time, but tho end came rather suddenly, as stated. Mr Ellis was a highly es- teemed townsman, and greatly respected by all who came in contact with him, and was a member of an old Barmouth family. He will be much missed, especially in Church circles, being a sound and conscious churchman, and at all times a gallant defender of the Church. Mr Ellis was appointed Churchwarden of St David's Church 15 years ago, and diligently carried out his duties to satisfaction of all--a proof of which was his re-election year after year. In the Sunday School, where he took an intelligent interest, he will be greatly missed as he had been superin- tendent and teacher for the last 25 years, and no one will miss him more than the children of St David's. Mr Ellis was one of the founders and treasurer of the Rural Deanery of Ardudwy Church and Sunday Schools' Annual Festival, and was elected years ago to be the representative of the parish at the Annual Diocesan Con- ference, which he regularly attended. In politics Mr Ellis was a Conservative, but took no active part in any circle outside his dear Church, which he loved so well, and when the end same he passed away to the Glorified Church above, to the sound of the St David's .Church bell calling the faithful to Evensong. He will be missed and mourned by his loving niece, Mrs E. G. Owen, who nursed him patiently to the end, and by a large number of friends. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved family in their great sorrow. The funeral, which was private, took- place at Llanaber Churchyard, in which be took a great interest, being one of the committee who look after and beautify God's Acre, yesterday (Wednesday) when the Revs. R. Lloyd Roberts, M.A., R.D., R. Ward, B.A., T. Lloyd Jones, B.A., and W. J. Williams, B.A., vicar of Bryncoedifor, officiated. The undertakers were Messrs Evans and Wiiliams, Graigfaeh.

Scioe of the young women teachers who had classes of over 30 under their charge pi l'or to the advent of these additional nnmber cannot reasonably be expected to do justice to our own children or the lis lie strangers. In the face of this serious problem, I have not heard that our Local Managers are moving in the matter. Why not have a room for these children and engage one or two of the best educated Belgians in the town to take charge of them. Surely a grave responsibility rests upon our School Managers. given that evening. This was seconded by Mr G. E. Owen and supported by Mr John Jones. The Rev. E. J. Parry pro- posed a very hearty vote of thanks to Mrs Owen and Mrs Morris for the splendid repast arranged by them to the Sunday School Scholars. Mrs Owen and the Morris's, Glanglasfor, have for many years kindly defrayed to cost of the annual tea, and the Wesleyan friends highly appreciate the readiness and willingness to continue this much looked for annual treat. Reference was made to the passing away of the late Mr 0. W. Morris, and bow interested be was in the annual treat. Mr William Jones, Gwynfa, seconded the resolution, which was passed most enthusiastically. The National Anthem brought an excellent programme to a close.
