CAERSALEM ANNUAL TEA PARTY & COMPETITIVE MEETING. The Caersalern annual tea party and competitive meeting was held on Wed- nesday week, March 8tib. Towards the close of the meeting & vote of thanks, for the splendid tea that was provided for the children, was pro- posed by Lizzie Mary Jones, and was seconded in n very able manner by Joha Arthur Davies. The duties of accompanists were car- ried out by Miss Mary Roberts, London Honse, and Miss Nesta Parry Owen, 7, Porkington Terrace, whilst Mr David I Owea, Bl'ynymor,condücted the singing. The following acted as adjudicators: Music, Mr David Roberts (Teiycor Mawddwy) recitations, tbR Rev. E. J, Parry, Epworth Vi!!n; scripture examinations, Mr John Lioyd, M.A., and Mr W. J. Stanley Jones, youngest son of Mr William Jones, The Boot Stores, who is serving with the S/7tb R.W.F., has been appointed /harpist for the R.W.F. now stationed at Wbittington, Oswestry. ReBavering.—Oa Friday evening. Mr Lewis Roberts, St. George's Terrace, received a telegram from the War Office informing him that his son, Pte. E!!i& Roberts, who was with the l/7th R. W.F., and who bad been seriously ill in Egypt, was now out of danger. Snowdrop Band—A meeting of the Snowdrop Bund was held on Thursday last as the Ca.ersa.Iem Schoolroom, Miss Jones Owen presiding. The charge was dismissed on payment of 4s. costs. —Lizzie O'Marab, Bronwen Terrace, Barmoutb, was also summoned by the same Officer for a similar offence, and a fine of 10s. was imposed.—A charge for non-payment of ratee against F. W. Andersen, Fairbourne, was adjourned for a month. Mawddach Lodge of Oddfellows.—The monthly meeting of the above Lodge was held on Saturday iast, Bro. Morris G. OHP Boys.—The foUowing Biu'moatb Boys, who were wounded at the Dardanelles and sent home for medical treatment have recovered, and have been drafted out again:—Pte. Thomas Evans, 4, Wa.ter Street.; Pte. Tommy Owen, Snowdon View; and Lance Corporal William B. Grinitb, Vulcan Villa. The two latter were borne over the week-end, prior to being drafted ont for Foreign Service. Pte. Evans *va<& drafted cut to Egypt some weeks ago and has already met a number of the B,trrnouth Boys who are serving with the l/7tb R.W.F. Assessmoint Committee.—Oa Saturday last, at the Assessment Committee held at DoJgeHey, the Barmouth Urban District Council appealed for a redaction in the assessment on the Barmoutb Waterworks. The Council were repres- ented by the Chairman (Mr J. Pryec Jones, J.P.), and the Deputy Clerk (Mr R L!ewe!yn Owen), and a reduction of £26 10s. Od. was granted. -The Sailorpor Institute also appealed for a redaction which was supported by two members of the Committee, viz., Messrs Bees Jones, Moss Bank and Gwilym Davies, Waveriey Cafe. A redaction of ;S2 was allowed. The Rejected Recruits.—A number of young men who were medically rejected SIfter August 14th last have received notices and railway warrants to report. themselves at Do!ge!iey. Some of them ha,ve in tbeir posessioa the Army Rejected CerMRcate, and it is difficult, to understand why these young men sbou!d be again called up. Some of these young men bad received notices to repott themselves at DolelIey on a previous cccasion, but it was withdrawn yet they have received notices n.gain to report themselves at Do!gel!ey. Roberts, this year's Sheriff for Merioneth resides a,ii BockSetd, Wavertree, Liverpoo], ana Cefn, Corwen. He is the second son o the late Mr R. D. Roberts, J.P., Corwea who also occupied the position of High Sheriff for Denbighshire, and is a brother to Mr J, N. Roberts, Inveruga, Barmoatb. Mr W. 0. Roberts is the managing director of the old-established 6rm of wholesale grocers, etc., Messrs. David Jones and Co. Ltd., Liverpool, Manchester and Swansea. He and bis three brothers, with Mr Owen Jones, J.P-, GIanbeuno, Carnarvon, constitute the board of directors of David Jones and Co. Ltd. Mr Roberts is one of the deacons of the premier Weisb Catvinistic CM. Church in Liverpool, Prince's Road, and is the moving spirit in the Kent Street (undenomi- nationat) mission, the meetings of which be invarisLbiy attends on Sunday afternoons and evenings. He is unassuming and one of the last men to court publicity, and is widely popular io Liverpool and North Wales.
