It is with deep regret we have to re- cord the death of Mr Evan Jones, 2, Marine Terrace, which took place on Friday night', at the age of eighty-one years. Deceased had a para!etio seizure about a week ago from which be never recovered. Deceased was n. native of Dyffryn and spent the ear'y part of his life at sea, beirtg chipHy engaged o-n foreign trade, and held a fust-mate certificate' He married the daughter of the late Mr David Richards, Bronygraig, who still survives him. He took a keen interest in pubHo flffairs and at one time was a me tuber of the Barmout;h Urban District Coan- cil, and also took great interest in the Rttepayers* Association when that organisation was a power in the town. He was a faithfu! member of Caersa!em Chape!. I The Chairman tpierred to the death of Mr Evan Jones, 2. Marine Terrace, a former member of the Council, whose II. death they deplored. He felt certain I that the Counci! deeply sympathised I with the relatives in their sorrow. The vote of sympathy was passed by all the members upstanding. I CULTIVATION OF LAND. The Deputy Clerk reported that att appHcation had been made by Mr R. J. Jackson, Marine Mansions, for a piece of innd at. Ceitwart for growing potatoes and other vegetables.
