Mr. William Joneg, Briton Ferry, assist- ant niaster at Herbert-road schools, has been appointed headmaster of Whitchurch boys' school, near Cardiff, and will com- mence his duties there next month. Seven months ago Con Morris (27), William-street, Yniscedwyn, Ytgynlais, a colliery repairer, sustained a dislocated spine as the result of a fall of roof, and he died at the Swansea Union infirmary on Saturday. .$;:I; The new organ at New Bethel Chapel, Garnant, was opened on Saturday by organ recitals given by Mr. David Clegg, assisted by Miss Louie Brooks (soprano). Although five days have elapsed, the ruins of the Mumbles fire are still smoulder- ing, and it has been found necessary to occasionally use the hose.
