Brynmor Childe-Evans, j M.B., D.S.O., of the R.A.M.O., who was officially reported wounded on Monday, is a doctor who, at the outbreak of war, had an extensive practice at Landore, near .Swansea, which he gave up to serve l1i.. (icV. r, an Old Boy of Swansea Grammar Sctiol, new in the Civil Service Ritles. has been wounded in both thighs. He is now in the Royal Infirmary, Derby, and seems to be making satisfactory progress. WOUNDED MORRISTONIANS. During the past week news has been re- ceived of a number of Morristonian6 who have been wounded in action. Pte. R. G. Bromjiam, S.W.B., son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bromham, 3, Temple- terrace, is now at Netley Hospital suffer- ing from a slieli wound in the knee. Pte. Bromham, who was with the regnlar.s, has two years continuous service.— Rifleman Arthur Merri field, of straw- berry-phicc, has been wounded for the second time. He is now at Cheltenham Hospital, suffering from a leg wound. Pte. Griffith Joseph, East Lanes., of 65, Tyrpenry^street, is reported wounded at Salonika, and ia now in hospital in Prance. Previous to the war he was em- ployed as a bthinder at the Dyffryn Tin- plate Works. He joined two years ago. Lance.-Corpl. B. D. R. Davies, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Davies, Rock-terrace, is in hospital at Manchester suffermg from a bullec,wound in the arm. He was with the Bankers' Battalion, Royal Fusi- liers, and previous to joining was em- ployed by the Capital and Counties Bank at Oswestry. I A LANDORE PRIVATE. News has been received by Mr. Samuel Powell, 13, Landeg-street, Laudore, that hk> son, Pte. Phillip James Powell, was killed in action on the 8th September. He was in the Welsh Regiment, and joined toon after war was declared. He has an. oth-er brother in the Grenadier Guards. DIED OF WOUNDS. News has been received by Mrs. Troy, of 28. Oak-terrace, Llarigyfelach-road, Swansea, that her only son, Pte. Prank Troy, of the Munster Fusiliers, has diee] of wound. He was the only &on, an joined shortly after tho outbreak of war. He saw service in Gallipoli, and was in- valided home from there after the effects of fever. Having recovered he later went to France where, after further service he was wounded, dying in hospital on Sept- ember 1st. SPLINTER IN THE ARM. Mr. and Mrs. W. Davies, of Dillwyn Stores, Brynhyfryd, haf-e received news that their eldest son, Lieut. T. Ll. Davies, of the R.F.A., has been wounded in France, having received a shell splinter in his right arm. Lieut. Davies, who, previous to joining the colours twenty months ago, was engagoo in the teaching profession. GUARDSMAN WOUNDED. Information has been received by Mr. Williams, Eirianfa, that his el-ckst son, Griff. Williams, of the Welsh Guards, has been wounded in France. SIX SOLDIER BROTHERS. Pt*. Blake, of the Rifle Brigade, is suffering from malaria fever, and is now lying in hospital in Malta. Pte. Blaka, who 28 years of age, joined the forces at the outbreak of war. Pte, Blake is one of six soldier brothers. His home is at II 11, Landeg-street, Landore. Prior to the war he worked at Baldwins Steelworks. LANDORE CORPORAL WOUNDED. Corpl. W. S. Darks, Royal Scots Furi- I liers, of 2, Hubert-terrace, Landore, has been admitted into hospital at Northamp- ton, suffering from shrapnel wounds in the neck and face. He was previously wounded. Hinds, M.P-, presided. The musical adjudicator was Dr. Vaughan Thomas, Swansea.
