LATE MR. JNO. ROBERTS, J.P. I Tributes from the Swansea Bench. I Prior to the commencement of the busi- ness at Swansea Borough Police Court on Monday. Mr. Richard Martin, chairman of the Bench, moved a vote of condolence on behalf of the magistrates and court gener- ally with the family of the late Mr. John Roberts. J.P. Mr. -Martin said deceased was one of the senior members of the Bench, and also chairman of the Licensing Committee. He was a man sturdy in character, and of strong personality—a man who ha.d attained the front rank of the district after s heer hard work. In his death Swansea had lost one or its brightest jewels. Mr. J. H. flosser, J.P.. Mr. Henry Thompson, solicitor (on behalf of the mem- bers of his profession ), Supt.. Roberts bll I behalf of the Chief Constable, Capt. Alfred Thomas), and .rr..1enklll Jones (magis- trates' clerk) associated themselves with the I chairman's remarks, and the vote of con- I dolence ,,s massed. th* tzunerai.
