Keen discussion took place with regard to the Governmpnt order banning certain varieties of pot a- j toes, and strong protests were iiit-Ie agailist the Order by tho leading; growers of the district, az; the niftjoi-ity cf the residents are affected. One farmer stated he had 30 tons of the hanned varieties. 10 tons of which had been left to go green for seed which, according to the Orrkr will have to go waste. Other instances were also given that stocks of from 3cwt. to 20 tons would bo on> hand.

LLANDOVERY. Mr. Henry Williams, Tanners Hall, who died after a long illness on Sunday. was one of Llandovery's oldest native tradesmen. He was a member ot the firm of E. Williams and Sons, cabinet makers.

Percy Horner, eon of Mr. and Mrs. Horner, of the Hafod, was one of a largf; family; each of the five 'brothers are ser- ving their country in the war. One has been discharged, but it is believed that he will be called up again. The youngest brother was present in khaki, together 1 with father and mother and ei iters.
