(ed to he made to Parliament in the ensuing Session by the Cardiff Hajl- I way Company (hereinafter called" the Company "> for leave to bring in a Bill ("hereinafter called "the Bill "I for all or j sonic of the following among other pur- pores, that is to sa.v r— To empower the Company to make an l maintain the railway and road diversion hereinafter described, together with all | proper stations, juaciicln", sidings, ap- proaches, bridges. load?, sewers, drains and other works and conveniences connected therewith, that is to say:— I (A) A railway. commencing in the parish of Llamshen, in the county oi Glamorgan, by a, junction with the railway of the Company at a point 7 chains or thereabouts, measured along that railway in a north-wes- terly direction, i'rom its junction with I the main line of the Rhymney Rail- way Company, and terminating in the parish of Llandaff, in the county ot Glamorgan, bv s, junction with the Roath Branch Rai?vay of the TaIT 'ale Railway Company, at a poi??t 3-7 chains or thereabouts, measured along that railway in a westerly! direction, from the. centre of the II bridge carrying that railway over Lake Road West. (B) A road, commencing in the parish of Lianishen by a junction with the I' public road leading from Lianishen to Cardiff at a point 7-2 chains or thereabouts, measured along that road in a southerly direction, from the I centre of the bridge carrying that road over the railway of the Com- pany. and terminating in the parish I of Llandaff by a junction with the paid public road leading from Lianishen to Cardiff at. the junction I therewith of the road leading to the Jews' Cemeteries. To stop up so much of the public road I leading from Lianishen to Cardiff as will be rendered unnecessary by the construction of I the intended road: to vest the soil of the said portion of public road proposed to be stopped up in the Company, and to extin- guish all rights of way over such portion of public road. To authorise the Company to deviate laterally from the lines of the intended rail- way, road and works to the extent shown on the plans hereinafter mentioned, or as may be provided by the Bill, and to deviate vertically from the levels thereof shown on the sections hereinafter mentioned. To empower the Company to cross, stop up, alter, divert, or otherwise interfere with, temporarily or permanently, all such roads, streets, footpaths, highways, bridges, rail- > ways, tramways, canals, rivers and streams, pipes. sewers, drains, telegraphic, telephonic and other electric cables, wires, posts and apparatus as may be necessary to cross, stop up, alter, divert or otherwise interfere with for the purposes of the said intended railway and works or of the Bill. To provide that, any new, altered or diverted road or footpath which may be constructed under the powers of the Bill shall form part of or a substitute for the existing road or footpath, and he maintained and managed r by The resrpfective parties liable to maintain the existing road or footpath at their own expense, or by such other parties shall be ppecined in the BiH. and that the public rights of way (if any) over any existing road or footpath shall continue to exist to the same extent, over the substituted road or footpath, and that any abandoned portion of read or, footpath shall vest in the Company. To enable the Company to purchase, lease or otherwise acquire, by compulsion or by agreement, and to enter npon. take, use and hold, temporarily or permanently, for the purposes of the said intended railway, road and works and of the BiU. lands, houses and other property in the said parishes of Llan- ishen and Llandaff. To acquire, by compul- sion or agreement, easements and other right? in. under or over lands, houses or other pro- perty without purchasing any such lands, houses or other property, and to vary or extinguish all rights of way and other rights and privileges in any manner connected with the lands, houses and other property to be purchased or taken as aforesaid. To authorise the Company to purchase a,nd. take by compulsion, notwithstanding Section 92 of the Lands Clauses Consolidation Act, 1846, a part of any house, building or manu- factory without being required or compelled to purchase the whole thereof. To authorise the Company to underpin, secure and strengthen any houses or build- ings which may be rendered insecure or defective by any of the intended works, and which houses and buildings may not be required for the purposes thereof. To enable the Company to demand, take and recover tolls. rates and charges npon or in respect of the intended railway, and to confer, vary or etinguish exemptions from tolls, rates and 1,i i-n ? and, if they think fit. to varv alte inereae or diminish the existing tolls, dues, rates, duties and charges or other payments authorised to he talien under the Bute Docks and Cardiff Rail- way Acts. 1865 to 1910, and to enable the Com- pany to levy the same, or to levy new or a,dditional tolls, dues. rates, duties and charges, or other payments in respect of the use of their docks, railways, works and con- veniences. or for servioer, or accommodation, or for passengers embarking or disembark- ing; and to confer, vary or extinguish exemp- tions from, a,nd from time to time to com- pound for the payment of, tolls, dues, rates, duties and charges, or other payments resr>e<rtively. To authorise the Company to apply. for the purposes of the Bill and for the general purposes of their undertaking, any of their existing or authorised capital or funds, and for these purposes and the general purposes of their undertaking to raise additional capital by the creation of new shares or eto'? either with or without preference, priority or guarantee. in payment of interest or dividend or other special privileges, a nd by borrowing on mortgage and the creation and issue of debenture stock, or by any one or more of these modes. To authorise the Company to pay interest out of their existing capital or any additional capital to be raised under the Bill upon any capital to be expended in the constrwction of the intended railway and works during their construction, and to alter or amend any existing powers of the Company for payment of interest out of capital, and to confer new or additional powers on the Company in reference thereto. To authorise the Company to make new or additional cross-over roads, sidings, and other works in connection with the construc- tion of the "fJid intended railway, and to abandon or relinquish the use of existing 01 neg-over road-, sidings ard other works. To provide that. notwithstanding anything shown on the deposited plans and sections, the Company may construct, the junctions of the said intended railway with the railway of the Company and with the railway of the Taff Vale Railway Company (hereinafter called "the Taff Company") respectively, at such points within the limits of deviation shown upon the plans hereinafter mentioned as may be best suited for the convenient working of the traffic, or as may be pre- scribed by the Bill. To declare and enact that the intended railway and other works and conveniences proposed to be authorised by the Bill shall form part of the undertaking of the Com- pany for all intents and purposes, and to apply thereto all or some of the provisions, of the Bute Docks and Cardiff Railway Acts, 1865 to 1910, including the provisions of those Acts relating to tolls, rates and charges. To authorise the Company to acquire com- pnlsorily or by agreement, and to enter upon, take and use temporarily or permanently for the purposes of their undertaking, in addition to any lands that they may acquire for the purposes of the intended railway and road, the following lands, vi?.. Certain lands, partly in the parish of Lianishen and partly in the parish of Llandaff, bounded on the south by the northern boundary fence of the road lead- ing from the public road from Cardiff to I Lianishen to the Jews' Cemeteries, on the east by the railway of the Company, and on the west and north-west by a, Ii ne commencing in the fence at the foot of the eastern slope of the ?aJd public road lea.ding from Cardiff to Lianishen at, its jnndion with the western boundary fe?c" of th? MUiway of the Company, and Lvn. I L I tinning thence in a southerly direction along that fence for a distance of 52 chains or thereabouts, and thence in a straight line in a southerly direction to the junction of the eastern boundary fence of that public road with the northern boundary fence of the road lead- ing from that public road to the Cemeteries. To empower the Comnany. or any Company or person for the time ?>eine lawfully work- ing or using the railways of the Company, or any of them. or any part or part* thereof, to run over, work and use, with their 'engines, carriages and wagons, and officers and servants, for the purposes of traffic of every description, on such terms and condi- tions, and upon payment of such tolls, rates, | and charges, or other consideration, as may bo agreed npon or be settled by arbitration iii-e?eril)e,t the RiH, the Roath Branch ? Raitv.ay of the Taff Company, in the county of Glamorgan, together with all existing and future sidings, junctions, station*, roads, platforms, points, signals, water, water engines, engine sheds, standing room for engines, booking and other offices, ware- houses, machinery, works and conveniences of or connected with the said railway, a.nd to enable the Company or any Company or person as aforesaid to levy tolls, rates and charges on the said railway so to be run Over, worked and used in respect of traffic conveyed by them thereon. To make provisions for the spee(ly and effectual interchange and transmission of traffic of every description passiug between the railways of the Taff Company and the docks and railways of the Company, includ- ing the construction of sidings and other I works. and for the rates to be charged by the Taff Company in respect of any such traffic, or of services to be performed by them. and for the alteration of any such tolls. rates or charges now existing, and to enable the Company and the Taff Company to enter into and carry into effect agreements and arrangements with regard to any matters relating to the above mentioned railway or any other railways of the contracting parties. including agreements and arrange- ments as to running powers and facilities I over or in connection with such railways c r any of them, and the interchange and trans- mission of traffic therewith and thereon and other traffic arrangements for the develop- ment of the traffic of the districts served by such railways or any of them, and to confirm and give effect to any such agreement. To enable the Company to demand, take and recover tolls, rates and charges upon or in respect of the railway proposed to be run over as aforesaid, and to confer, vary or extinguish exemptions from tolls, rates and charges. To authorise and if thought fit to require the Taff Company, or any Company or person for the time being lawfully working or using the railways of the Taff Company, to run over, work and use with their engines, carriages and wagons, and officers and ser- vants, for the purposes of traffic of every description, the railways of the Company north of the junction with the Roath Branch of the Taff Company of the said intended railway, together with the existing and future sidings, junctions, stations, roads, platforms, points, signals, water, water engines, engine sheds, standing room for engines, booking and other offices, ware- houses, machinery, works and conveniences of or connected with the said railways on atich terms and conditions and upon pay. ment of such tolls, rates and charges or other consideration as may be agreed upon or be determined by arbitration or prescribed by the Bill. and to enable the TaJT Company or any Company or persou as aforesaid to levy, demand, take and recover tolls, rates and charges upon or in respect of any of the railways so to be run over, worked and used in respect of traffic conveyed by them upon such railways. To enable the Company on the one hand and the Illaff Company on the other hand to enter into and carry into effect contracts, agreements or arrangements for or in rela- tion to the construction, maintenance, use, management and working by the Taff Com- pany of the railways of the Company or any part or parts thereof, and for the construction or completion of any authorised works of the Company, and the supply of rolling or working stock and machinery and of officers and servants for the conduct of the traffic on the said railways or any part or parts thereof, and the payments to be made and the conditions to be performed in relation to such construction, maintenance, use, management, working and snpply. To make provision with regard to the interchange, accommodation, conveyance and delivery of traffic upon, in, or coming from or destined for the respective under- takings or works of the contracting parties, the levying, fixing, division, apportioning and appropriation of tolls, dues. fares rates and charges and receipts levied, taken or arising from such traffic, the sums or consideration, whether annual or in gross, and the rents, payments and allowances. rebates and drawbacks to be paid, made or allowed by either of the contracting parties to the other for or in relation to any of the matters to which the 4respective contracts, agreements or arrangements relate, the appointment of Joint Committees, and other incidental matters in relation to any such agreement, and to confirm or give effect to any such contract, agreement or arrangement which may have been or may be made prior to the passing of the Bill. To make applicable to all 'or any of the lands of the Company all or some of the provisions of the Bute Docks (Transfer) Act, 1886. with regard to the sale, exchange or leasing of any of such lands, or, if thought fit, to make new provisions with regard to the sale, exchange or leasing of any of such lands. To incorporate with the Bill all or some of the provisions of the Companies Clauses Consolidation Act, 1845; the Companies Clauses Act- 1863 and 1869-. the Lands Clauses Consolidation Acts. 1S45, 1860, 1869 and 1883; the Railways Clauses Consolidation Act, 1845; the Railways Clauses Act. 1863. or any Act amending any such Acts. with such variations, modifications and exceptions (if any) as may be deemed expedient, or as may be contained in the Bill. To alter, amend or repeal, to far as may be necessary for the purposes of the Bill, all or some of the provisions of the several Acts before mentioned, and of the following local Acts (that is to say):-The Bnte Docks and Cardiff Railway Acts, 1865 to 1910, 6 Will. IV., cap. 82, and all other Acts relating to the Taff Company or their undertaking, 20 & 21 Vict, cap. 140, and a,ll other Acts relating to the Rhymney Railway Company or their undertaking, and any other Act or Acts of Parliament recited in any of the before- mentioned Acts or affecting any of the above-mentioned Companies or their under- takings. To vary and extinguish any rights and privileges which would interfere with the objects of the Bil!. and to confer other rights and privileges. Maps, plans and sections relating to the objects of the Bill. together with a book of reference to such plans, and a, copy of this Notice as published in the London Gazette, will, on or before the 30th day of November instant, be deposited for public inspection with the Clerk of the Peace for the county of Glamorgan at his office at Cardiff; and on or before the same day a copy of so much of the said plans, sections and book of reference as relates to each of the parishes before mentioned will. with a, copy of this Notice, be deposited for public inspection as follows (that is to ray).-As relates to the parishes of Lianishen and Llandaff. both in the rural district of ÜatJ- daff and Dinas Powis, with the Clerks of such Parish Councils respectively and with the Clerk of the District Council of such district, at their respective offices.
