There was another metereological change during the night, the air becoming much colder before midnight and there was a very sharp frost this morning. So much so that fears were entertained lest another ad- journment should be found necessary. There was a fair number of horses on the 'course this morning, but the work done may be described as merely healthy healthy exercise. A few were trotting on the far side, while others ventured a gentle canter. The coarse was very hard, but the sun came out with great splendour, and the course is now considered safe to race on. Mischance made the running with a clear lead of Sacristan, Cinderella being last, for about a mile, when Sacristan headed Mischance. They ran thus until entering the straight, when the favourite took second place, but she could never reach the Beverley horse, who won by four lengths six lengths separated the second and third. The winner was not sold. The THURSDAY SELLING HURDLE RACE of 5 sovs each, 2 ft, with 60 added weight for age selling and other allowances. Two miles.
