THE Committee have undertaken on behalf of the Food Production Department of the Board of A rioult,ire the distribution in the County of ??.i,iiarvon of a limited quantity of white preserving sugar for Jam-making. The Sugar is available for purchase by growers of fruit only and not by purchasers of Wait. The price will be 7d pe.r lh. The amount available for each individual pur- chaser will not exceed jibs, for each pound of fruit grown by him for Jam. Not more than one application in respect of each house or fruit garden will be entertained. If the total amount applied for exoeeda the quantify allotted to the County eaoh a-pplleatioii will be proportionately reduced. Forms of application for purchase can be obtained from the undersigned or may be madie by letter (postage prepaid), which must state the following:— 'a) Name, address and description of applicant. (b) The amount in pounds of fruit estimated to be available for Jam-making and the quantity of Sugar applied for.- (c) That the whole of the estimated amount of fruit has been grown by the applicant, and that no portion h?s been or will be purchased by him or on his behalf. (d) That, no other application for Sugar under this scheme has been made by the applicant or on his behalf. TiHE Minister of Pensions has just sanctioned a JL Scheme for the training of disabled Soldiers ind Sailors as smallhQlders or skilled market gar- ieners at the Wr&iham Garden Village. The course of training extends over a period of at least twelve months, and will be in market' gardening on modern lirves, and in the cultivation of fruit and vegetables under glass. Discharged men in receipt. of a Pension who desire to take advantage of this course of training, which will be given by a fully qualified instructor, are in- vited to send in their applications to the Secre- tary, War Pensions Local Committee, 4, Overton Aroadc, Wrexham. Full allowances will be paid during the period of training, plus a bonus of 59 for each completed week of training.
