LLANDUDNO. I To <A< Editor of the North Wales C'AroKM& Sir,—In your last issue I observed a letter tigned A Visitor ft"' the firstand last time." I trust it is for the last time, for we fire better without visitors who can make a cowardly attack on a highly talented and gen- tlemanly medical omeer, t)r Nieol, because he happene to be a Scotchman hot I hafe reason to believe that thp said visitor was one of those brutes who, a short time aince, I saw guilty of coaduet en[y worthy the moat ignorant and degritded. The said wretehea in human form hating nrst cared to diaguise themselves as gentle- men, were driving in the grounds near Gioddaeth, when on perceiving tome rery young pheasants, which had onty been hatched with the greatest care by the keepers, stopped the carnage they had hired, got out, and deliberately began to pelt with atones, and try to kill the ycung birds.. Had I not seen it, I coutd not have believed that such barbarism existed in the nineteenth century, for a New Zealander is a gentleman compared with ouch de- mon*. These contemptible onobt may be still residing in Llandudno, and if they be, I give them due notice that although in taw the truth is considered a libel, if ever they are again guilty of such conduct. I will publish their names, and hold them up to uniYenial contempt md execration. &Ud execration, I am, Sir, yours truly, LIandudno, AUlIIIt 3rd, 1864. ANGLMAXON. I Uandudno, Auguat 3rd, 1864. In addition to thia, the silver medahfor Botany," as well as that for "ChymMtry" were awarded to him in the Queen'a CoUege, Bir- mingham. Last week a cargo of machinery was delivered at Car- diff, forming the nrst delivery of engine work for the wreck of the Matilda" wrecked some time since on Lundy Jatand. The contract was taken by Mr. Hugh Palmer, of Carnarvon, but owing to the state of the wreck the engines had to be entirely disconnected under water by means of divers, which was necessarily a. very slow operation. The contract, it is expected, will now be finished in a few days. Mr. Palmer has just accepted another contract to raise the Jona," a small steamer of very great value, sunk in fifteen fathoms of water, near the entrance of the Clyde. TMINDKPMDMM'COONTT AsiMCtATMN.—The an- nual meetings in coanectMa with this body of Christians in Carnarvonshire, was held at Bangor on Tuesday and Wednesday last, when a great number of people attended from various parts of the county, as we)! ao the neigh- bouring counties. A delegate's meeting was held at EbenHter chapel on Tuesday afternoon, followed in the evening by two sermons by the Kev. 0. Evans, Wrex- ham, and W. Caledfryn Williams. Sermons were also delivered in a. field, situated in Garth-road, on the fol- lowing day, which were listened to with much attention by a congregation numbering about 4000. 1- un LLANDUDNO. To the Editor of the North Walu Chronicle. Dear Sir,—I see by the papers that the t own Coun- cillors of Dandudno had 'L mfetrng t.te other day, in spite of what is saidabout their "never doing anything I see M[. Punch was ordered o<r the Parade, it being the opinion of the Board that his exhibition were not always conducted in a proper manner and some tum- blers, whose exhibitions were not exactly what they ought to be" on a public walk, frequented by ladies, were served with the same sauce. Now, I am very proper" myself, and I have been wondering why a number of naked men "with nothing on" are allowed to cuntinna their performances on the beach. Do you know, we girls dare not glance at the water" for fear people should think we are looking at those nasty naked men. I suppose these Councillors never beard of a verae in the Bible about a(r<M<ttn// at a gnat and swallowing a ca- mel. I wonder whether they wear wig8," and look like Judges, or whether they "dreso up" like those old Druids we read about, who used to live about hare. I ehouM so /<te to see them. Hoping you wont think me rude, I remain, dear Mr. Ettitor, YottM truly, FANNY FOX. P.S.— I quite forgot to tell you that I saw in the paper that somebody had been round to inspect the pigatyes." Do you know, at the houae where I am staying they keep some old barrels full of pig-waoh — euch odious stuff. I can see it from my window, and smell it too, though it is stuck in a comer t am sure that has never been inspected for it Is there to this day It has cost me ever so moch in eau de cologne since I came here. Isn't it a shame ? Adieu. Do make them do something" with those horrid naked men Papa went to one of the Town Councillors, named Owen ThoiBM, I think, who keeps bathing machines- he saw his name in the liat," and he thought he could do something," but he seemed not to understand" him—so he was none the forwarder.
