Shoemaker, Uwynonn, near Wrexham, will not be responsible for any debt or 9 debts my wrfe, ELIZA MADDOX, may contract after this date. Signed, ??o JOHN MADDOX. May 28tb, 1878. ?gg PUBLIC NOTICE. IN reply to the Notice published in the ITf-e?M JL Advertfser of &tnrdíy last, the 25th of May, bv JAMES TURNER, of Rfcosymedre, Butcher, that he would not be respoasihleior anv debt or debts con- tracted by me his irtfe, ANN TURNER, I beg to in- form the public that Yfwve never been in the habit of contracting debts. Thattarfore mv marriage with Tinner I had ample means at my command to pav for everything on purchasing.. That after my marriage yi Turner I never made ohe single debt, but still t'lntinuell to pay for everything, and that out of my own hard-earned savings and Turner never during the whole time paid one shilling for me, no, not even found me a meal's meat white I was with him, but he was deep enough after my marriage with him to in- duce me by some fine statements to advance him sums of money at various times out of my private means wherewith to pay off some old outstanding debts of his. And so he continued from time to time to wheedle me out of money; but instead of using the money for business purposes, I found afterwards that it was paid for the support of his children and grandchildren. On finding out at last that I was getting proof against all his arts and wiles, and would advance him no more, he deliberately shut up the shop and carried off all the hams, bacon, pigs, horse, cart, harness, and everything convertible. In a few days after he came to me and tried to induce me to open the shop, and that r should attend to and have the sole control over it myself, and he would simply remain about the house in idleness. This I refused to do, consequently he made no more to do bnt brought two carts and cleared the house of every par- ticle of furniture, even the very things I had mvself brought, and did not leave me either a chair to sit upon or a bed to lay upon—no, not even a bit of bread. And not satisfied with doing all this he must needs endeavour to defame my character by adver- tising me in the public papers, besides slandering me in other ways. If Turner denies these facts, I will leave the matter in the hands of some disinterested party, and I will undertake to bring proof of all my statements. ANN TURNER. Rhosymedre, May 30th, 1878. MR JAAIES GRIFFITHS, VRONDEG FAR31 NEAlt WREXHAAI, FARMER. ASSIGNMENT FOR BENEFIT OF CREDITORS. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that by Indenture ? hearing date the 23rd day of May, 1?8 and made between the said James Griffiths of the 1st part John Griffiths, of Rodens Hall, in the parish of Holt, in the said county of Denbigh, farmer, and Thomas Alorgan, of Liverpool, in the county of Lan- j caster, corn merchant, of the 2nd part, and the other persons whose names and seals were thereunto signed and set (being creditors of the said James Griffiths) of the 3rd part the personal estate and effects of the said James Griffiths, were assigned to the said John Griffiths and Thomas Morgan, for the benefit of such of the creditors of the said James Griffiths, who should execute that deed or signify in writing there assent thereto within two calendar months after the date thereof. By Order of the Assignees, JNO. JAMES, Brynyffynnon Offices, Sol icitor, Wrexham. 30th May, 1878. 1285a TO THE ELECTORS OF THE DENBIGH BOROUGHS. £ ENTLEAIEN,—Air. Watkin Williams having an- Gnounced his intention not to offer himself to you for re-election—an announcement which lias caused much and well-founded regret—the Committee of Delegates from the Boroughs of Denbigh, Ruthin, Holt, and AVrexham have done me the honor to invite me to become the Liberal candidate at the next election. I hasten to say that I cordially accept that invita- tion, and willingly place my services at the disposal of the Liberal party. Paving already held a seat in the House of Com- mc A, and taken an active share in the politics of this county, I do not think it necessary, on this occasion, to give any lengthy explanation of my political opinions. I need hardly tell you that I should give my hearty support to Mr. Osborne Alorgan's Burials' Bill, and to a measure for the equalisation of the franchise in counties and boroughs, which latter I hold to be of immediate importance to the general interests of the country. With regard to Temperance Legislation, without pledging myself to any of the Bills now before Parlia- ment, I should endeavour to support any practical measure which would give a real and substantial con- trol over the Liquor Traffic to those who are the greatest sufferers from its evil consequences, viz., the ratepayers. The question of the relations of Church and State is not now before the constituencies as a portion of practical politics, but I believe in common with many who like myself are Members of the Church, that the solution of it can only be found in their ultimate separation. The Foreign Policy of this country is, at this mo- ment, a matter of supreme and paramount import- ance but whilst I hold that agrave indictment stands against Lord Beaconsfield's Cabinet for their conduct of it, it would be impossible to deal with this question adequately within the limits of this address. When the occasion arrives I shall be glad to address you fully upon it. It only remains for me to add that, should you do me the honor of returning me to Parliament, I should endeavour to the utmost of my ability faithfully to discharge the duties of your representative.
