BARRY DOCK ENGLISH BAPTIST SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY. The largest Sunday school in the Barry district is that of the Holton-road English Baptist Church, having on their registers nearly 550 scholars. During the past year about 60 have joined the church after baptism. On Sunday last the eleventh anniversary services of the Sunday school were held, when there was a crowded congregation at each gathering, the pulpit being occupied by the eminently popular devine, the Rev David Davies, of Brighton, who delivered eloquent discourses. In the morning the reverend gentleman, who is the author of the popular volumes, Talks with Men, Women, and Children," and other literary works, confined his remarks to the children, and at the close of the service six Sunday scholars (four males and two females) were baptised by the pastor, the Rev T. Pandy John. Mr W. J. Flower presided at the afternoon service, when a pro- gramme of sacred solos, recitations, &c., was rendered by Misses Beatrice James, J. Emmanuel, C. Heavers, C. Hart, B. Berry, M. Harrison, and L. Camble, and Mr E. Camble. An appropriate address was also delivered by the Rev David Davies, to which the children listened with deep interest and edification. The choir, under the conductorship of Mr F. Farr, rendered anthems at each of the services. The leader of the singing throughout the services was Mr T. S. Williams, and Miss Pitt and Mr G. Rogers presided at the organ.
