IBETHEL, PONTRHYDYGROES.
I BETHEL, PONTRHYDYGROES. On the 17th inst the annual festival and concert took place at the Wi-sleyan Chapel, the object of which was to defray the expenses, which lay heavily upon the chapel. The tea was attended to by Mrs Dr Morgan, Mrs Capt Owen, Mrs Ball and several other ladies, who kindly, took care thft everything was carried on in a very satisfactory manner. Dr Morgan, Pontrhydygroes, occupied the chair amidst loud cheers, and delivered a very ela- borate speech, and remarked that be trusted they would partake so attentively as they did of the tea a short time previously. He went on to speak of the importance ot both mental and physical exercise. The programme ran as follow* :-A song by Isaac Richards song by Miss Pritchard eLlmos Dyfi) Mr Jenkins, schoolmaeter, Yspytty Ystwyth, and party; song by Mr M. Edwards, U.C.W.; "Dacw Mam," by Miss Evans, Llanafan; song by Mr Charles Boneall Edwarda "The Pilot" by Mr Roberts, schoolmasier, Ystemtuen; song by Eos Cell; song by Daniel Jones and party "I am a merry singer" by Llinos Dyfi song by Mr R. Owen "Dros y mor" by C. B. Edwards "The Soldier's tears" by Mr Roberts, Ystemtuen "Little Brown Jug," by Williams, Cwmystwyth "Yr hen ffon fy nhad," by J. Howells song by Daniel Jones, Llanafaa. Mr Davies schoolmaster, Devil's ¡. Bridge, presided at the harmonium, and it is evident that he is no mefin pl-tyer. Much oredit is due to Mr Davies for his enthusiasm in promoting good singing in this locality. Miss Pritchard (Llinos Dyfi) appeared to be a favourite, and was loudly cheered. After a speech from the Rev Mr Jones, Pontrhydygroes, and also from the Rev Mr Pritahard, the meeting, which was largely attended, and showed much suceess, came to a close. A vote of thanks was passed to the chairman and to all who partook in the singing. The concert terminated by the Rev Mr Pritchard singing "Hen Wlad fy Nhadau."
