A DYKE SIX MILES LONG. The London and North-Western Railway Company intend to extend the clay puddled dyke on the west side of Foryd Station along- side the line to the railway viaduct over the Clwyd, but (a correspondent writes) they are also contemplating the construction d a similar bank close to and parallel with the railway, all the way from the eastern boundary of the Rhyl urban district to Mostyn, a distance of fully six miles. At the same time the level of the railway is to be raised by two feet, except under the bridges, which, of course, will not, without being themselves raised, admit of the tracks being further elevated. Evidently the present level of the line is below that of high water at the highest of spring tides, and the Company are'' determined that the possibility of the sea Inundating the line and interrupting the traffic shall be entirely obviated. The dyke is to be similar to that at Foryd, and will therefore be about four feet above the level of the rails.
