OBITUARY. ;
OBITUARY. MISS WATTS, ABERDARE. (By a Correspondent.) It is with regret we announce the death at her residence, I Dare Villas, Aberdare, in her 70th year, of Miss Grace Watts, an old and highly re- spected inhabitant of the town. A lady of high culture and most kindly di- position, she will he greatly missed amongst her many friends. Miss Watts was the only daughter of the late Mr. George Watts, who had an important and flourishing business in the town in the early fifties, and who died in 1858, and was buried in the Old Churchyard of St. John's. He was an ardent Wesleyan, and the site of the old Wesleyan Church, which was that of the establishment of Messrs. Hodges and Sous, near the Boot Hotel; was one of his gifts -to the cause. The late Miss Watts was greatly interested in the active work of the church in her younger days, and held the position of organist, class-leader, and Sunday School teacher. She gave freely to its'many calls, and although in her latter years she was confined 10 her home through indisposition, she showed the greatest interest in the work and well being of the church. It was a. delight to visit her, and to chat with her over matters, when the beautiful Christian spirit would shine forth, and words of healing and en- couragement would be spoken in that beautiful kindly manner which made it such a pleasure to be in her company. The funeral, which was public, took place Wednesday afternoon. The service, which was conducted by the Rev. Stephen Harper and the Jiev. George Windram, was held at the Wes- leyan Church, after which the cortege proceeded for the interment in the old churchyard of St. John's near by.
