THIS JOURNAL, at present the largest in existence—un- rivalled for its early intelligence and uncompromising advo- cacy cf the rights of mankind—will be ENLARGED, on and after Sunday, the 7\,h of January, 1849, to SIXTEEN PAGES, containing SIXTY-FOUR COLUMNS, of the same size and form as at present, without any extra charge. By its zeal in the cause of progress, and its stanch devotion to the interests of the people, the Dispatch has become a terror to the upholder of abuses, and a powerful auxiliary on behalf of the op- pressed, whose wrongs will always meet with sympathy and ex- posure. Encouraged by their success, and anxious to extend the sphere of their political influence and social utility, the proprietors have re- solved on the proposed enlargement of the Dispatch, which here- after will answer the purpose of four newspapers, and thus accom- modate four readers at one and the same time. The columns of the Dispatch will still continue to be enriched by the powerful contributions of "Publicola," Caustic," Cen- sorius," Eliza Cook, and other writers distinguished for their lite- rary. attainments, and whose opinions have ever advocated the cause of the people, in opposition to tyranny and injustice. It may also be observed, that the poor. man will always receive legal advice and assistance, as heretofore, from the Dispatch. A beautiful new type has been cast, on which the Dispatch will next, year be printed. An edition of the Dispatch is published at five o'clock every Saturday morning, for transmission by the first train and morning mails, so that persons residing in towns 250 miles from London may receive it the same evening. To prevent disappointment, orders should be given early to Mr. Richard Wood, 139, Fleet-street, London, to whom Post Office orders may be made payable, or to any of the newsvenders, in town and country.
