Ladies and Gentlemen, At the request of many friends I have consented to stand for the above election. You all know the deep interest I have taken in matters of Local Government, and that in all things I act independently without fear or favour. in Besides the treatment of the deserving poor, you must not forget that the Guardians deal with the assessment of property in the Urban District of Colwyn Bay, and to my mind the district is not at present properly represented on the Assessment Committee. If elected, I shall do my utmost to fulfil the duties to the best of my ability. I do not intend to make a personal canvass, but Ic hope your knowledge of my past work in the public interest will secure me your support at the Election on Monday, the 25th instant. I am, yours faithfully, THOS. H. MORGAN 1887 (Solicitor). Election Addresses. I ON'WAY BOARD OF GUARDIANS ELECTION. COLWYN BAY NORTH WARD. Ladies and Gentlemen, At the request of a large number of residents I have decided to offer myself for election at the forthcoming contest. Having been a resident in the district for the past thirty-two years—during twenty-two of which I have been a ratepayer, I claim to have a good knowledge of the district, and especially the North Ward, which I consider is very necessary in one holding the position of a Guardian of the Poor. If elected it will be my aim to discharge the duties fairly without introducing political or religious differences, and to pursue a policy of fairness and economy. Yours faithfully, JOHN KYFFIN WILLIAMS. Liverpool House, Colwyn Bay, 14th March, 1907. 1851 ETHOL1AD BWRDD GWARCHEIDWAID CONWY. DOSRAN OGLEDDOL COLWYN BAY. Foneddigesau a Boneddigion, Ar ddymuniad nifer fawr o drigolion, yr wyf wedi penderfynu cynyg fy hunan fel ymgeisydd yn yr etholiad agoshaol. Gan fy mod wedi byw yn y dosbarth am y deuddeng mlynedd ar hugain diweddaf,-ac wedi bod yn drethdalwr er's dwy flynedd ar hugain,— gallaf hawlio fod genyf wybodaeth lied fanwl o'r dosbarth, ac yn neillduol o'r Ddosran Ogleddol, yr hyn a dybiaf sydd yn wir angenrheidiol er dal y swydd o Warcheidwad y Tlodion. Os etholir fi, ymdrechaf wneud fy nyledswydd yn berffaith deg, ac heb ddwyn i mewn olygiadau politicaidd na chrefyddol, ond cario allan bolisi o degwch a chynildeb. Yr eiddoch yn ffyddlawn, JOHN KYFFIN WILLIAMS. Liverpool House, Colwyn Bay, Mawrth 14eg, 1907. 1851 ELECTION OF CONWAY UNION GUARDIANS. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE NORTH WARD, COLWYN BAY. Ladies and Gentlemen, You will have noticed my candidature for office in this Ward, my address having been delivered to each voter. May I again solicit your votes, and if elected I promise my best service in return for your confidence. I am, yours faithfully, SAMUEL JONES. Victoria Buildings, Colwyn Bay. 1878 T THOLIAD GWARCHEIDWAID UNDEB j1 CONWY. AT ETHOLWYR DOSRAN OGLEDDOL COLWYN BAY. Foneddigesau a Boneddigion, Yr ydych yn ddiamheu wedi sylwi ar fy ymgeis- iaeth am gynrychiolaeth y Ddosran uchod ar Fwrdd y Gwarcheidwaid, gan fod fy anerchiad wedi ei hanfon i bob etholwr. A gaf fi unwaith eto ofyn am eich pleidleisiau, ac os etholir fi addawaf roddi fy ngwasanaeth goreu yn gyfnewid am eich ymddiriedaeth. Ydwvf, yr eiddoch yn ffyddlawn, SAMUEL JONES. Victoria Buildings, Colwyn Bay. 1878 ONWAY BOARD OF GUARDIANS c ELECTION. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE NORTHERN WARD, COLWYN BAY. Ladies and Gentlemen, My purpose in addressing you is not to seek your votes in this Election, but to respectfully inform you that I AM NOT A CANDIDATE for the Northern Ward. I was very kindly nominated by leading Rate- payers in both the Southern and the Northern Wards, and was thus given my choice as to which Ward I would stand for. My desire was to represent the Southern Ward, in which I reside, but unfortunately an error by some means occurred in filling up the withdrawal form, with the result that I am debarred from seeking the suffrages of the electors of the Southern Ward, and instead am left in the list of Candidates for the Northern Ward. This is contrary to my wishes and intention, and I much regret the confusion which has arisen. I desire to tender my sincere thanks to those who nominated me and offered to work and vote on my behalf, but at the same time I feel it my duty not to go the Poll, and to repeat that I AM NOT A CANDIDATE for the Northern Ward in the present Election. I beg to remain, Ladies and Gentlemen, Yours faithfully, RICHARD DAVIES. Hope Bank, Colwyn Bay. 18th March, 1906- 1880 THOLIAD^"BWRDD GWARCHEIDWAID CONWY. AT ETHOLWYR DOSRAN OGLEDDOL COLWYN BAY. Foneddigesau a Boneddigion, Nid fy amcan yn eich anerch ydyw gofyn eich pleidleisiau yn yr Etholiad uchod, ond eich hys- bysu NAD YDWYF YN YMGEISYDD yn y Ddosran Ogleddol. Enwyd fi yn garedig gan drethdalwyr dylan- wadol yn y Ddosran Ddeheuol a'r Ddosran Og- Ieddol, ac felly rhoddwyd i mi fy newis gyda golwg ar pa Ddosran y dymunwn sefyll drosti. Fy nymuniad ydoedd cynrychioli y Ddosran Ddeheuol, yn mha un y trigaf, ond, yn anfiortunus, ryw fodd neu gilydd gwnaed camgymeriad wrth Election Addresses. lenwi y papur tynu enwau yn ol, gyda'r canlyniad i mi gael fy rhwystro i ofyn cefnogaeth etholwyr y Ddosran Ddeheuol, a gadael fy enw ar restr ym- geiswyr y Ddosran Ogleddol. Y mae hyn yn grues i fy nymuniad a'm hamcan, ac y mae'n ddrwg genyf fod yr afreoleidd-dra wedi digwydd. Dymunaf ddatgan fy niolchgarwch mwyaf diffuant i'r rhai a'm henwasant ac a gynygient weithio a phleidleisio droswyf, ond ar yr un pryd teimlaf mai fy nyledswvdd yw peidio mvned i'r etholfa, ac i ail-adrodd' NAD YDWYF YN YM- GEISYDD yn y Ddosran Ogleddol yn yr Etholiad hon. Dymunaf aros, Foneddigesau a Boneddigion, Yr eiddoch yn ffvddlawn, RICHARD DAVIES. Hope Bank, Colwyn Bay. Mawrth i8fed, 1907. 1880 F 5 ETTWS-Y COED URBAN DISTRICT ) COUNCIL ELECTION. TO THE ELECTORS OF BETTWS-Y-COED. Ladies and Gentlemen, Having been requested to offer myself as a candidate for the Urban District Council, I beg to announce to the electors of Bettws-y-coed that my address will be sent to them in the course of a few days. HUGH W. FOX. Ty'n-y-Bryn, Bettws-y-coed, 13th March, 1907. 1858 BETTWS-Y-COED URBAN DISTRICT J3 COUNCIL ELECTION. TO THE ELECTORS OF BETTWS-Y-COED. Ladies and Gentlemen, Having accepted nomination as a Candidate for membership of the Urban Council, I shall be grateful for your support on the polling day. There are several important questions to be dealt with in the immediate future, and I can only promise to give all these questions the most serious consideration, placing first and foremost the interests of the whole community. The watchwords of the next Council ought, I think, to be Efficiency with Economy. A serious attempt should be made to obtain a plentiful supply of good water at a cost within the ratepayers' means, and the drainage question should be earnestly grappled with at once. I am also of opinion that the Urban Council should, directly or indirectly, encourage the pro- vision of a Public Hall and a Recreation Ground for the village, and that steps should be taken to make its attractions better known. I am, ladies and gentlemen, Your obedient servant, W. H. ROLAND. School House, Bettws-y-Coed, March 13th, 1907. i86o BETTWS-Y-COED URBAN DISTRICT JD COUNCIL ELECTION, TO THE ELECTORS. Ladies and Gentlemen, At the request of several of the Ratepayers I have consented to stand for nomination at the forth- coming Election, and if returned to the Council I will endeavour, to the best of my ability, to do all I can to represent the general interest of the Rate- payers. At the present time the most pressing subjects are the plentiful supply of good water, and this the Council should endeavour to get at a much less cost than the proposed Ffynon LIugwv Scheme. The next in importance is the complet- ing of the Sewerage of the whole village. I have often thought that our pretty village, with its un- surpassed scenery, should be more widely known as a Winter Resort, owing to the mildness of the place, due to the shelter we enjoy from the moun- tains. We also ought to put our heads together to see if we can add to the attractiveness of the place by providing some Recreations for our visitors, and so induce them to stay longer with us. I am, your obedient servant, J. P. FAICHNEY. Gwydyr Hotel, BettWs-y-Coed. 1859 BETTWS-Y-COED URBAN DISTRICT D COUNCIL ELECTION. TO THE ELECTORS OF BETTWS-Y-COED. Ladies and Gentlemen, Having been nominated as a Candidate for the Bettws-y-Coed Urban District Council, I beg to inform the electors that my address will be for- warded to them in a day or two. Yours faithfully, BERTIE HOPE PULLAN. Royal Oak Hotel, Bettws-y-Coed. 1861 BETTWS-Y-COED URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL ELECTION. TO THE ELECTORS OF BETTWS-Y-COED, Dear Sir or Madam, Having been asked by my friends in Bettws-y- Coed to stand for the Urban District Council in this coming election, I take this opportunity of placing my views before the ratepayers of the district. In my opinion there are certain necessary improvements which will have to be attended to, and in the first place pure water above all suspicion is essential, which can be procured with- out going to the expense of the Ffynon Liugwy scheme. I am in favour of proper drainage of the district, and in fact any improvement tending to the health and prosperity of the inhabitants and Bettws-y-Coed with due regard to the ratepavers' pockets. If elected as one of your representatives, I shall do my utmost in your interests. Yours truly, D. LL. K. PRICHARD.
