In the Divorce Division on Wednesday, Mr Justice Barnes heard a case in which Mrs. Miriam Adeline Rose-Innes sued for a divorce on the ground of the cruelty and adultery of h er husband Mr Cosmo Rose-Innes, a barrister, of 5, King's Bench-walk, London, with whom she had lived at Brynaston Mansions. There were no defence. Petitioner stated she was married to the respon- dent on the 19th of April, 1890, at Maldon, Essex. They afterwards lived at Cricklewood and at TIryn- aston-mansions. After they came to the latter address her husband had neglected her. Cne he came home under the influence of driDk. He locked the bedroom door, put a pistol on the table, and said if she moved he would shcot her. She was very much frightened. Â t Doukgne, in 1897, he caught her by the throat, and they both fell to the ground. He then held her against the wall. She cried out, and hersister, Miss Lucy Bo wen-Rowlands, and her maid came to her assistance. Miss Lucy Bowen-Rowlan ds, petitioner's sister, and her maid were called to give corroborative evidence of the cruelty.* Other evidence was given to prove that the respon- dent and another lady had taken a fiat at Park mansions, South Lambeth-road, in the name of Mr and Mrs. Brooks, and that respondent had frequently visited the lady there. A decree nisi was granted with costs and the custody of the child, a boy eight years of age.
