CHESTER PORT SANITARY AUTHORITY. A meeting of the Joint Board of the Chester- Port Sanitary Authority was held in the Town Hall, on Thursday, under the presidency of Dr. Stolterfoth.-The Medical Officer (Dr. Hum- phrey Williams. Flint) reported that during the last quarter he had paid several visits- to the different ports in the district, and had found the vessels in a good sanitary state- clean, ventilated, with a good water supply, and with no sickness on board. No notification of any infectious disease was received. He was in constant communication with the inspector, and special attention was being paid to foreign vessels and to other vessels that might have called at any port where plague had been notified.—The report was adopted, on the pro- position of Mr. W. H. Lloyd (Connah's Quay),, seconded by Dr. Hamilton(ChpstBr). The In- spector of Nuisances also presented a satisfactory report.-The Clerk (Mr. Henry Taylor) explained that during the quarter 389 vessels, with a tonnage of 29 576, had touched at ports in the Board's district. Three hundred and elgnuy-unree or the vessels came coast ways, and six were foreign. In the corresponding quarter last year there were 13 foreign vessels, and about the same number of vessels coast ways. The Chairman Is the falling off in the Spanish vessels bringing iron ore to Mostyn ? -The Clerk: Yes, the iron trade is not so good as it was.-The Inspector They have some thousands of tons in stock.—It was explained that more vessels were now coming down to the new works at Hawarden Bridge, and that there was a prospect of an increase in the shipping.

INTERESTING CHESTER MARRIAGE. TOPHAM-SHARPE: St. Werburgh's Catholic Church, Chester, was well filled on Wednesday morning on the occasion of the marriage of Miss Nora Mary Sharpe, second daughter of Mr. Frederick W. Sharpe, Abbey Gate House, Cheater. clerk to the Chester magistrates, and Mr. Edward A. C. Topham, eldest son of Mr. Joseph Topham, of Bryn Elwey, St. Asaph, and Heathley, Oxton, Birkenhead. Canon Lynch performed the ceremony, and was assisted by the Revs. T. Giles, C. Carton, T. Hayes and C. Mulachy. Mr. W. French acted as best man. The bridesmaids were Miss Gladys Sharpe (sister of the bride), Miss Edith Topham (sister of the bridegroom), Mis& Daisy Topham (cousin of the bridegroom), and Miss Suzette Alvarez, and Miss Gwynaeth Sharpe, youngest sister of the bride, who was train-bearer. They were attired in pretty dresses of a rich shade of cream crepe de ohine, trimmed with point d'Alencon lace, gold buckles, and swathed belts of gold tissue and picturesque white felt hats trimmed with cream satin rosettes, large gold buckles, and red berries. They carried bunches of red berries tied with red ribbons, given, with gold bracelets, by the bridegroomi The bride's gown was of deep ivory satin made en Princesse, with train sus- pended from- the left shoulder, trimmings of embroidered lisse duchesse and Brussels applique lace (the gift of her mother) and chiffon flounces. She wore a beautiful old lace veil, over a tiara of orange blossoms, and carried a posy of white roses tied with chiffon. Her only ornament was a necklace of pearls pre- sented by the bridegroom. Mr. Sydney G. Sharpe presided at the organ. The choir,, which was augmented by a full orchestra, was conducted by Mr. Thos. Oakes. At the conclusion of the impressive ceremony the Very Rev. Canon Lynch delivered a short and appropriate address, during which he announced that a telegraphic message had been just received from his Holiness Pope Lec XIII. pronouncing his blessing, and another from Dr. Allen, the Bishop of Shrewsbury. A reception was afterwards held at Abbey Gate House, and later Mr. and Mrs. Topham left for London en route for Paris. Messrs. Bolland and Son supplied the wedding cake.
