CADOXTON MOORS. BAPTIST ANNIVERSARY.—The second anniver- sary of the Baptist Church, Cadoxton Moors, was held on Sunday last, when the Rev J. P. Jones, Bridgend, preached in the morning and evening, and addressed the children of the Sunday school in the afternoon. On Monday evening the same rev gentleman, with the Rev R. B. Jones, Porth, also preached, the former in English and the latter in Welsh.

BIBLE CHRISTIAN WOMEN'S MISSIONARY LEAGUE.——The annual tr'a and meeting of the Bible Christian Women's Missionary League took place at the Bible Christian Chapel, Barry Docks, on Thursday evening, the 21st instant. There was a large attendance at the tea. held in the Schoolroom, and at the public meeting, presided over by Mrs Jones, the ex-president of the League, ) who read the reports of the different branches, showing the marked success of the work done during the past year. A short but pleasing speech was delivered by Mrs Rutter, of Barry; and Mrs Murphy having rendered an excellent solo, Mr Gulston, a mis-ionary from China, after apologis- ing for the absence of his wife, delivered his address, depicting in interesting terms some of his experiences in the celestial country, and describing the manners and customs of the people generally. A collection was made in aid of the local branch of the League, and the Rev W. D. Lee Cann having submitted a vote of thanks to Mr Gulston for his well-delivered address, and to the audience for their valuable assistance in the noble work carried on by the Women's Missionary League, the pleasant meeting terminated with the singing of the doxology.

BARRY ISLAND. CARDIFF WAIFS AT THE ISLAND.—The second contingent for the present year of 500 poor children from the East Moors, Cardiff, under the auspices of Pearson's Fresh Air Fund, were taken to Barry Island on Saturday last, and the little ones spent a most enjoyable afternoon on the sands of Whitmore Bay. They were in charge of Alderman W. J. Trounce, Mr Godwin Edwards, Mr G. Percy Thomas (the secretary), Mrs Thomas, Miss Haywood, and Miss Blackburn. The children on arriving received a meat pie eachf-and later in the afternoon were regaled with tea and cake. Two t similar contingents are to follow before the close of the season..

MARRIAGE OF THE RnV D. H. WILLIAMS.— On Monday last, the marriage of the Rev David Harris Williams, B.A., curate of Dinas Powis, but for several years one of the assistant clulrgy at Pontvpridd, the elder son of the Rev William Williams, rector of Whitchurch and vicar of Llanfair, Nantgwyn, Pembrokeshire, to Evelyn (Eva) Elizabeth Helen, the youngest daughter of Mr William Williams, solicitor, Ca-rdiff, and of Gordon House. Llandaff, was solemnised at Llandaff Cathedral by the Right Rev the Lord Bishop of the Diocese, assisted by the Rev J. R. Buckley, B.D., rural dean and vicar of Llandaff, the Rev H. J. Williams, B. A., rector of St. Andrew's Major, and the Rev J. P. Griffiths, M. A., vicar of Pontypridd. The bridesmaids were Miss Williams, sister of the bride, and Misa Williams, sister of the bridegroom. The best man was the Rev F. R. Williams, B. A., Pontypridd. The bride was given away by her father.. Mr G. G. Beale, Mus. Bac., the Cathedral organist, ably presided at the organ. A reception was subsequently held at the residence of the bride's parents, and the happy couple left later for Torquay and Cornwall, where the honeymoon will be spent. The presents to the brid« and bridegroom were numerous and costly. The Cathedral bells rang merrily during the remainder of the day.

LLANTW1T MAJOR. STOCK MARKETS.—At a public meeting held at Llantwit Major on Friday evening last, it was decided to hold fortnightly stock markets in the I town. It is also in contemplation to establish -corn markets. Llantwit Major is one of the principal stations on the Vale of Glamorgan Railway from Barry to Bridgend, and special provision has been made by the Railway Company for the reception and despatch of stock and other market produce therefrom. THE CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOUR SOCIETY.—A public meeting will be held on Wednesday next at the Wesleyan Chapel, Llantwit Major, under the auspices of the National Christian Endeavour Union of Wales, when the Rev A. J. Jenkins, Newport; Mr A. Lawrence, Cardiff and Mr J. H. Edwards, of Barry, are expected to deliver addresses. The chair will be taken at 7.30 p.m. by the Rev J. B. Llewelyn, and prior to the meeting a public tea will be held. Tickets, 6d each; children. 3d.

The members of the Dinas Powis Cricket Club ,paid a visit to Peterstone on Saturday afternoon last in order to fulfil their fixture with them, and after an interesting game, resulted in a victory for the visitors by 30 runs. Dinas Powis, winning the toss, elected to bat first, but their start was not an encouraging one, as only 22 runs were recorded when the seventh wicket fell. However, a change was witnessed when A. E. Plater went in, and runs were frequent, the latter playing excellent cricket, whilst his 23 (not out) was very useful in contributing to the success of his side. G. E. Wessendorff was a good second, with nine runs to his credit, his boundary (6) being described as the hit of the match. Peterstone afterwards batted, but were dismissed for only 36 runs, C. T. THE VOLUNTARY HOSPITAL, BARRY DOCKS. Three fresh patients have been admitted, and one sent out convalescent since our last issue. Eighty-five suffering men, women, and children have been treated in this hospital this year, ten of whom are now in. There is a great and pressing need of more money to carry on the work. DEAR MR.
