PARLIAMENTARY NOTICE, M PARLIAMENT Session 1908. 1 CONWAY AND COLWYN BAY JOINT WATER SUPPLY BOARD. (Sanction and Confirmation of Existing Works; Diversion of Water from Lake Cowlyd; Prevention of Pollution of Water; Provisions as to Fittings and Supply of Water; Borrowing Powers; Charges for Water, Fittings, etc.; Amendment of Provisional Orders.) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that application is intended to be made to Parliament in the next Session by the Conway and Colwyn Bay Joint Water Supply Board" (hereinafter called the Joint Board) for an Act for all or some of the following purposes (that is to say) I. To sanction and confirm the proceed- ings of the Joint Board with reference to the acquisition of lands and the construction of their existing works and to empower the .1.nt Board to maintain the existing works xt hereinafter described in the counties of Carnarvon and Denbigh, and from time to time to alter, improve, enlarge, extend, renew, reconstruct or discontinue all or any of the same (that is to say) Work No. i.—The embankment or dam constructed by the Joint Board across the outlet of Lake Cowlyd, in the parishes of Llanrhychwyn and the town- ship of Dolgarrog, in the county of Car- narvon, which raised the said outlet 6 feet above the cill of the former stream gauge there. The said embankment or clam being 176 yards in length. Work No. 2.—The conduit or line of pipes constructed for abstracting water from the said lake, commencing at a point near the outlet of the said lake 14 feet below the level of the present over- How cill at the said outlet, and extending from that point for a distance of 492 yards in a north-easterly direction to the gauge chamber situate in the township of Doigarrog, and thence proceeding through the said township for 4,100 yards, or thereabouts, to an overflow chamber, thence for a distance of 550 yards, or thereabouts, to a pressure re- ducing tank, thence for a distance of 500 yards, or thereabouts, to the main road, thence along the main road in the town- ship of Dolgarrog and parishes of Caer- Tum, Llanbedr-y-Cennin, Llangelynin, GvAin and Conway, thence along the sus- pension bridge over the River Conway, thence onwards along1 the main road in the tWffs'hcs of Conway, Llanrhos and Llangwstenin, all in the county of Carnarvon, thence to Sarn Mynach, in the parish of Llansantffraid, Glan Con- way. ilf the county of Denbigh. 2.- To empower the Joint Board to make '(1nd maintain all such cuts, channels, catch- vvaters, adits, culverts, tunnels, overflows, bye-washes, filter beds, tanks, reservoirs, mains, pipes, banks, dams, approaches, Engines, pumps, buildings, works, plant, apparatus and appliances as may be neces- sarv or convenient in connection with the before-mentioned works or any of them, or Accessary or convenient for inspecting, re- Pairing, maintaining, cleansing, managing, Working and using the same or required for any of the purposes of the Water Under- of the Joint Board. 3. To empower the Joint Board to ab- stract, divert and impound from Lake Cowlyd and Afon Ddu River all suc'i water as may be necessary for the Purposes of water supply by the Joint Board or for other purposes of their Water Undertaking, and to alter and if thought »t to reduce the amount of water discharged by way of compensation water by the Joint oo-ii-fi" < To provide for the prevention of POlll- tioll and contamination of the water to be sUpplied by the Joint Board, and to empower the Joint Board to enter into and carry into effect agreements with respect to drainage of lands in the vicinity of Lake Cowlyd or their works and the more effectual collec- tlOI, conveyance and preservation of the Parity cf the said water. 5. II. To enlarge the powers of the Joint Board in relation to the making and re- covery of charges for rates in respect of the supply of water, water meters and fit- tings, and to alter existing charges and rates and to grant exemptions therefrom. 12. To alter, amend, extend or repeal all or some of the provisions contained in the Provisional Orders confirmed by Pari lament in the Sessions of 1891, 1896 and 1898 relat- ing to the Joint Board, and to make new provisions in lieu thereof. 13. The intended Act will or may incor- porate, with or without modification, all or some of the provisions of the Lands Clauses Acts and the Waterworks Clauses Acts, 1847 and 1863, and will or may con- fer on the Joint Board all necessary powers for the purposes aforesaid and vary or ex- tinguish all rights and privileges which would impede or interfere with such pur- poses and confer other rights and privileges. And notice is hereby given, that plans and sections of the existing works to be sanc- tioned and confirmed by the intended Act, the plans showing the lands in through or over which the same are made or the pur- chase of which is sought to be confirmed with a Book of Reference to such plans containing the names of the owners or re- puted owners, lessees or reputed lessees, and of the occupiers of such lands, and a copy of this Notice as published in the London Gazette, will, oil or before the 30th day of November instant, be deposited for public inspection with the Clerk of the Peace for the county of Carnarvon at his office at Car- narvon, and with the Clerk of the Peace for the county of Denbigh at his office at Ruthin, and on or before the same day copies of so much of the said plans, sections and Book of Reference as relate to each of the areas hereinafter men- tioned in or through which the vor^s pro posed to be sanctioned or confirmed by the intended Act as aforesaid are made or in which any lands or other property the compulsory acquisition of which is sought to be confirmed by the intended Act as aforesaid are situate, together with a copy of this notice as published in the London Gazette, will be deposited for public inspection as follows, that is to say In the case of the Borough of Conway, with the Town Clerk of such Borough at his office In the case of the Rural District of Con- way, with the Clerk to the Council of such Rural District at his offices, and in the case of the Parishes -of Llanrhychwyn, Dolgar- rog, Caerhun, Llanbedr-y-Cennin, Llangel- ynin, Gyflin, Conway, Llanrhos, Llangw- stenin and Llansantffraid, Glan Conway, with the respective clerks of the Parish Councils of those parishes at their re spec- tive offices or (where they have no office) at their residence or if there is no clerk to any such Parish Council, with the Chair- man of such Council at his residence.
