RIVAL CLAIMS TO AN ISLAND ON THE DEE. CURiOUS CASE AT CORWEN. At Corwen County Court, on Friday, before Judffe Wiiliam Evans, action was brought by Margaret Elizabeth Davies, tenant of Ty'rdlyn Farm, againat the Hon. C. H, Wynn, of Rug, for entering land in her possession, cnttmg up posts, destroying fences, and removing notice boards. The plaintiff claim d ES damages, and asked for an injunction. Mr Ellis Griffith, M P was for tho plaintiff, and Mr A. Graham for the defendant. It was stated th-ai the action was really brought by Mr Lloyd, of Rhagait Hall, against Mr Wynn to secure a judgment aa to the ownership of an island that had been formed in the middle of the River Dee. A number of elderly witnesses testi- fied that at one time the island did not exist; it had been brought into existence by the action of the current carrying soil from the adjoining land, and both parties to the action claimed the ownership of it. His Honour stated that the case raised points of exceptional interest. There was no doubt that at one time the island did not exist, and that it had been formed by the currcnt changing its eoim>3. He apportioned one-eighth of the island to Mr Wynn and seven-eighths to Mr Lloyd. He awarded a penny damages, and refused an in- junction. I
