The rate-i of postage are 3d. for a parcel not exceeding 1 lb. in weight, and ltd. for every additional pound. For example, 2 lbs. costs 4|d.; 3 lbs. 6d.; and so on up to 11 lbs. which costs Is. 6d. The dimensions allowed for an inland postal parcel are :—Maximum length, 3 ft. 6 in.; maximum length and girth combined, 6 ft. Oin. INLAND BOOK POST. The Book Post Rate is one halfpenny for every 2 oz. or a fraction of 2 oz. Every Book Packet must be posted either without a cover or in a cover entirely open at the ends. No Book Packet may exceed 5 lbs in weight, or one foot Rix inches in length, nine inches in width, and six inches in depth.

POST OFFICE TELEGRAMS The charge for Telegrams throughout the United Kingdom is 6d. for the first twelve words, which must include addresses of sender and receiver. It is not, how- ever, necessary to telegraph sender's address, and by this omission an average of seven »ords may be sent for sixpence. Free addresses are abolished; numbers in addresses are counted as one word. After the first twelve words the charge is one halfpenny a word.
