A Simple Remedy I For Loss, of Flesh and Weakness. Increases Weight 1-lb. per Week. Any Chemist can supply it. If you are thin, weak or debilitated from any cause, or if you suffer from indigestion, nervousness, or palpitation, a certain yet perfectly harmless and invalu- able remedy which can be obtained for a few pence is Dr. CasselFs Tablets. These Tablets build flesh and create nerve force and bodily strength in a, manner that surprises everyone who takes them. They should be given to children" for rickets', weak chests, qi" defective nourishment, and taken by adults for any form of nerve and bodily weakness. Stout people may take them without fear of increase of adipose tissue because of their extra- ordinary power of absorbing fat and con- verting it into sound, healthy flesh, blood, bone, and muscle. Ask your chemist for Dr. Cassell's Tablets, at lOVd.

Tonyrefail-A Shopping Centre, [Specially Contributed.] At the present time, when the fortune- making fever is in the nl'i-, considerable activity is going on in that erstwhile secluded spot—Tonyrefail. Long ago, it was prophesied by those who were sup- posed to know that Tonyrefail was the coming place, and matters as they stand at the present moment all point to that prophecy coming true. Houses by the hundred are being rapidly pushed up, old cottages in the main street are being transformed into capacious front-shops, and instead of the Sleepy Hollow atmo- sphere that pervaded the place, Tonyr- efail is now in the grips of the speculative builder and under the vigilant supervision. of the resourceful tradesman. A .stranger within our gates would reasonably ask, Why all this feverish activity Why all these new shops? Well, to satisfy the stranger, we will tell him. About a mile or so from Tonyrefail la situated the new Coed Ely Pits, which, when fully developed, will -require several thousands of men to work them. And with a prospective view to housing these men and supplying their wants, the speculative builder and the pushful tradesman are laying out money, in the hope of receiving in return a plethora of profits. Now just for a few seconds let us examine the position. Presuming the Coed Ely Pits turn out as anticipated, two years will at least be required to elapse before the adequate number of inhabitants can be obtained to anything like supporting the new influx or trades- men and their wares. We must remember that Tonyrefail is not, as yet, a shopping centre, and if the tradespeople want to make sure of reaping a profit on their expenditure, let them have this end in view. As it is at present, Tonyrefail is anything but an attractive centre. True there are some well-appointed shops, but in many cases the ground in front of manv of the shops is as bad as the road, and in wet weather just as dirty. Some tradesmen have been there for years and years, and their shops are just the same now as when they were built. Let them realise that the old order of things changetb, before it is too late. Mr. D. L. Jones (draper) is one gentleman who realised that fact years ago, and we com- pliment him on his present smart and thoroughly up-to-date establishment. If the majority of Tonyrefail tradesmen would follow Mr. Jones' example, they would make of Toiiyrefill i, shopping centre second tOI none in any of our populous mining villages, which would command not only local custom, but customers from a distance. Tradesmen contemplating opening shops In Tonyrefail should remember the case of Bargoed, which at present is consider- ably over-shopped," and the case of Barry, which is considerably over-built. In the case of Ynysybwl, some years ago, a large number of shops were built owing to a new pit being opened, and the result there was many of the shops were idle and temporary tenants allowed to go in them simply to keep them aired. From more than one source have we heard it stated that Tonyrefail is being over-built. Our object in stating this is not to decry the merits or demerits of the place, but simply to put intending speculators on their- guard., The Rhondda Tramway Company, it is stated, intend running can, from Peny- graio; to Tonyrefail in the near future. If that OOlTPS to pass, we see no reason why it should not, telld to relieve the pre- sent congested Mid-Rhondda area bv the workers taking houses at Tonyrefail and going to and fro by means of the tramcar service. But whatever Tonyrefail even- tually, crms out to lie, wa ,stick to it there is only one Rhondda, and there will be only ono Rhondda, at 18:1st in our generation. I
