URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL. The monthly meeting of the abuve Council iias hela on Friday, -presided over by Mr R. Parry, Bod Id don. Others present were: Messrs Tnos. Griffith (vice-chairman), R. Parry. J.P., T. W. B. Corns, R. Rawhncon, John Hugnes, J. P. Kaic-ey, and Dr. PriCiiard. wich the Clerk (Mr R. R. Owen),and the Surveyor (Mr U. L). Jones). On the recommendation of the Finance Com- mittee, bills amounting to £ 154 119 lOd wtv.e passed for payment. T. e Clerk said that the available balance now amAlutoo to 1;200 Is 7d. Mr Tnomas Griffith called attention to the heavy motor traffic on Cwm Llanerch-read Some few years ago an application was made to the oounty authouuy to main that road, bat nothing had come of it H-j considered it a great shame that a small urban district !iki Bettwsvcocd should be called upon to maintain such a road. H., moved that application be dgain made to thd County Council to take over rhe road. Mr John hughes, in seconding, said ha thought it would be well if the Geirionydd Coun- cil would co-operate with them in the application. Tiie mo ion wa. agreed to. In reply to the complaints of the Council as to the quality of the gas supplied at Bettwayooed, the nan age* ^f thogaa oompany wrote informing them thai they were .new contemplating the erection of new plant at the works, with the view of supplying good gas. Everything would be loitp to improve the lighting. A resolution was passsod asking the manager to meet he Lighting Committee, The Meaioal Officer of Health reported thai during November there were seven births and two deaths.
